Players who fit that Ilk..

Gallagher (Could maybe be had for Bennett, Gillies and perhaps Fox. Montreal looking for a Center to build around)

Kevin Hayes (can’t see Boston moving him currently but for the right package)

And to a lesser extent but with bigger salaries

Bobby Ryan (could be had very cheap)

Radim Vrbata (could be had cheap, but depends on how many teams are interested in him)

Justin Williams (canes may be willing move him)

But the flames desperately need a RH scoring threat. Brouwer is not the answer.
I would not give up all three of Bennett, Gillies and Fox as that's a huge overpayment for Gallagher. Hayes shoots left, Ryan is always hurt, Vrbata and Williams are a maybe but are 36 years old and have both fallen off a cliff this year.

Any other suggestions?

Kevin Hayes is a left shooting forward who plays for the Rangers.

Jimmy Hayes is his brother and does shoot right, but is now in the Devils organization and has recently spent time in the AHL. Not exactly a world beater.

Just got a notification from Sportsnet:

Brian Burke: Flames likely won't use draft picks to acquire rental player

The Flames will not be using 2019 picks either. They have some.

My big hope is that we do acquire one of Pacioretty, Hoffman, or Kane with an agreed upon extension.

And perhaps Smith could help on the 4th line.
Worth pointing out Evander Kane is super cold right now.

33 points in his first 35 games, and 3 points in his last 18 games.

Botterill: so lets talk Kane, he's available for the right price.

Treliving: you know, Brouwer has twice as many points over the last 18 games right?

Botterill: but it's Evander Kane, I want Giorda-

[Wizard-mode engaged] Treliving: -alright fiiiiiiiiine,I will give you a proven leader, a guy who is on the top PP unit, and has letter on his jersey *cough* Brouwer *cough* for him - I just have to get him to waive his no trade clause. You sure drive a hard bargain

TSN has added Jeff Skinner to their trade bait board, citing growing tensions between him and head coach Bill Peters. They have also added Gillies.

Spoiler!

Too bad he is LW, always thought Skinner was underrated.

Maroon is 29?!

The way he looks I thought he was in his mid-30s at least.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to trade Gillies. He's been highly touted since he was drafted and IMO, has always convinced me he has the potential to be the best out of him / Rittich / Parsons. i could be totally wrong on that, but I've always been a huge Gillies fan.

Skinner would be a really great add- if only to have him stop burning us every time we play them!

He's another left shot but he's definitely a preformer, and if he was put on our second or third line he would probably benefit a lot from better matchups. The age is right! The only shortcoming is the concussion history...
