I don't know the full stories of the others - But Oliver has a good chance at this, I imagine.

So what's the storey on Ingram being a finalist? Has to be more than just surviving this last year of Muerolo's ownership...maybe not.
We all know Kylington's storey, and Andersen overcame some serious blood clotting issues to get back and play at a high level when returning.

Stories are in that link. Can’t say I’d be upset if he doesn’t win though. All three guys have been through a lot and are all very deserving!

The Awards show will be held the day before the Draft in Vegas, but it looks like they'll be announcing the winners of the "minor" awards over the next few weeks.
The Masterton will be announced on Wednesday...

Can't believe they created a Mark Messier award.

Just make it a tie and give these 3 the Masterton - they all seem deserving.

I thought it was donated by Lays, but it turns out it was originally paid for and donated by Cold-fX, who Messier did commercials for at the time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_M...adership_Award
I find it funny that Messier captained 3 teams in his career -- Oilers, Rangers, and Canucks -- and no member of any of those teams has ever won the Messier Leadership Award.
Meanwhile it's been won by a Flame twice (Iggy and Gio). Boston, LA, and Nashville are the only other teams with 2 winners.

Cold FX was a placebo product, making it a bogus award.

Interesting that the NHL views the Selke in the same vein as the various administrative, sportsmanship/humanitarian and whatever category Messier's award is in.
