I always come back to Crowded House as a source of comfort, but also great musicianship. This is a great example. The off beat tempo, mixed with the slightly uncomfortable lyrics about temptation into an affair, slipping seamlessly into a beautiful melodic lullaby. Take a minute to really appreciate this song.

Ever since watching Lisa Frankenstein, I've been in a deep dive into the synth-pop scene/history. I've always liked this song, but it really hits me somewhere that most synth songs do not. Perhaps it's the deep bass synth that runs throughout, or the thoughtful lyrics, but in the end, I think it's the lead singer's hair. Yup, that's my final answer, lock it in.

I enjoyed the Gershwin Prize presentation to Elton John and Bernie Taupin so much. I can watch anything Elton John over and over with amazement and wonder. It was really cool seeing Metallica perform his songs and Garth Brooks is another favorite of mine so seeing him honor Elton was awesome as well.
