Aces will have to go through Ex-Ace/Flames prospect Laurent Brossoit to continue on in the Kelly Cup. They face his new team in the Bakersfield Condors. The 6 seed and a team entirely propped up by Laurent Brossoit.

Yeah, some great stats in the ECHL but terrible in the AHL.

If poor Brossoit had gone anywhere but the Oilers organization, I'd still say given time to develop he's going to be a stud goalie. Got size, athleticism, etc.

However, with that dump of a franchise he's really got the odds stacked against him IMO.

Aces down 1-0 to Brossoit and Condors after 2 periods in game 1.

Aces scored 2 in the 3rd period to get the win! Former Condor (who the ECHL page says was traded to Alaska in March) with 1G, 1A. Guess that didn't work out well for Bakersfield.

Edit: Dammit, beat by Athnik

That was March of last season (he played 10 games in 2012-13 with the Aces). They should really include the year on those things.

Default Alaska Playoffs

Yea the whole "Acquired on March 8 from Bakersfield Condors" really doesn't read like it was last season.

I thought it sounded off too but figured since he only played a few games with the Heat that he might have been a trade to fill in for injuries/call-ups. I can't actually remember the last game he played with the Heat.

I think it was during the injury stretch, but I remember him being in Heat training camp so I thought the traded in March thing sounded off.

Evan Trupp is Anchorage born. If you're Alaskan and can play the team will try to trade for you.

I really like Trupp. He's almost a Paul Byron lite out there. Quick, pesky, elusive, nice shot.

The Aces have a 1.60 goals against average in 10 post season games. Record of 9-1.

Game 2 is through 1 period and still zip - zip, although I'm not sure how often the ECHL updates their website. According to the box score the shots on goal were 4-3 for Alaska. Doesn't sound like a barn burner.

I found the app updated faster then the website. Got the goal notification before it was on the site.

2-0 Bakersfield now at the end of the 2nd. Shots are 13-13.

Jordan Knackstedt who very briefly was on the Heat has one of the goals.

Oliver Roy is not in net tonight according to the box score.
