Dube and Mangiapane were both terrific.
Jankowski may never play for the Flames again. It's astounding to me just how much better the bottom-six looked without him. He needs a change of scenery for sure.

Did they actually play our goal horn in that building or was it superimposed? Asking the important questions.

Just grateful to have hockey after these last few months. So much planning and what if's but I'm happy to watch the flames in the middle of summer. Can't wait for Saturday!

Very impressed by Lucic - Bennett - Dube.
It’s a throwaway game, but it echoed last spring against Colorado a lot. Top six forwards produced nothing during 5v5 play, and we got eaten alive by their speedy elite centre.
The top six needs to be better on Saturday.
Have to think Talbot starts Game 1.

Well there you have it. I didn’t think they played too bad, meh. Backlund pots that one timer on the PP and Bennett puts that away and our goalies don’t go full moron for a couple minute lapses and that’s actually a CGY victory. I wouldn’t beat myself up over it if I was a Flames player.
Jankowski is not an NHL caliber player.
McDavid is... ridiculous.

Rittich signed for 2 seasons.
If Talbot is their goalie.. then what's the plan with Rittich? No playoffs last season and no playoffs this season.. there is no way the Flames can bank on him to be the starter next season.

Flames looked good in the 2nd and most of the 3rd. Couldn't score to save their lives though, which is why they lost. Well, that and not bothering to show up in the 1st, which is the story of the season.
Rittich looked weak on that flukey bounce and seemed rattled afterwards. I'd say Talbot gets the start for game 1.

I'm going to feed on the optimism from the positive minded folks. It makes me feel peace, and it's just plain nice.
Logic, observation, and history weighs heavily in the opposite direction, but for ####s sakes I'm going to embrace every positive post in this thread because 2020.
Feed me hope, CP!

So did anyone catch the 50/50 draw number? Because after that I’m not feeling lucky at all.

Real happy hockey is back. Didn't mind the showing from the boys at all tonight; felt they got stronger as the game went on. As other posters have mentioned if a few bounces go our way then its a whole different story.
Goaltending was a tad shaky, who gets the start on Saturday? My moneys on Talbot.

I'm really not sold on a few guys on our blueline - Hanifin and Gustafsson specifically.
Bennett's one of those players who if he played more probably finds the back of the net in this game. One of these days I'd like to see his icetime reflect his chance creation.
Really not like a lot of guys in our bottom six - Lucic, Rieder, Rinaldo, Jankowski. Too much dead weight.
Ward still sucks.

Slight typo here - you put "Rick Ball" when you meant to type "no one".
