I bet a work colleague from Edmonton a case of beer on this game but I’m still not mad about losing it.
I’m gonna bank on my team AND I know they will be better come Saturday.
I just hope the coach makes the right decisions and the right guys get the call.

I hope it wasn’t decent beer. Oilers fans deserve mountain crest. Warm mountain crest.

Just like that, we improved their odds by 50%. Now let's keep doing it till it's at 99.99%

He wanted Corona, of all beers (at a time like this hahaha).
My choice was Heineken.

Flames second half was much better. Am happy gaudreau appeared to gain some confidence with the puck. Also, hope thd rookie coach we got realizes dube/Bennett are high motor players that the team needs more of.
The goaltending was pretty damn Meh. Talbot earns the game 1 start for me. Rittich had a pretty easy night from a shot/chances perspective, yet still gave up a stinker.

Not too worried about the result, more focused on individual performances. .
Gaudreau looked quick and illusive which is good because he didn’t look like that most of last season.
Monahan looked strong and gave a lot of effort, dominated the face off dot.
Mangiapane gives 100% every shift, Tkachuk/Backlund looked okay but didn’t seem to be trying as hard as possible.
Bennett and Dube have great chemistry and the team needs to harness that and figure out a better balance in the bottom 6.
Thought Brodie, Gio, and Andersson looked good. Hanifin struggled a bit. Forbort and Gus looked alright.
Biggest concern is goaltending. Talbot struggled in the first and was fighting routine shots giving up big rebounds. Rittich looked calm and poised...until the bit of lazy play on a weird bounce and then his confidence was shaken.
Overall the goaltending battle remains my biggest concern going into the weekend.

Not putting much stock into this exhibition game but a few concerns.
1. Goaltending if we don't get it we don't get anywhere. I liked Talbot more, seemed to settle in better.
2. Team defense. Has to be a 5 man unit. No cheating up the oce for breaks.
3. Pray to the gods that when all is on the line they don't call the Johhny has the puck at times audible. I honestly think that Lindholm is the silent assassin we need to break things open.
4. Bennett/Dube and DO NOT DEVIATE.

I felt bad for Monahan last night—he looked really aggressive and strong on that play along the boards with Klefbom in the first, and then is called for a tripping penalty as a result of some really good play. For a guy who has been criticized for being too passive or not physical enough it really felt like a no-win situation.

I personally didn't mind his game last night. I thought he looked engaged from Puck Drop and it was Johnny/Lindholm that didn't really look into it until midway through the 2nd.

I totally agree. I just thought it could be frustrating for a player criticised for his lack of physicality to get unfairly penalised for being physical.
