I really want Dawson Mercer.

Kids plays alot like Pelletier, hard working, plays above his size and has a lazer beam of a shot.

Don't really see him busting and could be a very good third line going forward.

Should be high risk/reward players from top to bottom in this draft for Calgary. They have a lot of 2nd to 4th liners in the system already, but need top line talent. Shoot for the fences.

Seth Jarvis to me looks like he can be that type of player.Tons of skill and his skating is so impressive, makes things happen all over the ice.98 points in 58 games is pretty darn impressive.

Now would be the perfect time to increase the draft age a year and for next year do a lottery based on the last three years of the standings (like the crosby draft).

RS/RW or C for the first rd pick, please and thanks.

And wouldn't be going after ~5'10" players unless the skill there is elite.

Interesting idea, and I'm not against it on initial thoughts. Changing the draft age to 19 makes sense on several fronts.

Assuming there’s no more hockey this season, here’s what I’d suggest for draft order:
The lowest number of games played by a team is 68, so the standings should be based on regulation time wins in the first 68 games, using OT wins or shootout wins as the tie breaker; and the draft goes in the reverse order, with or without a lottery conducted in the usual way.

If there are no playoffs every team should have a shot at first pick similar to the 05 draft.

Disagree in the sense that there was still a season played - not a full season but enough of a season to determine which teams were good and which teams were awful. Look at the Senators, they have been a dreadful team and this is the draft where they can recover, if you take that away from the team then you may as well doom them to be an awful team in perpetuity.

The season was halted due to circumstances beyond the NHL's control, beyond every team's control. My feel for the draft would be the same if they had playoffs. Lock the standing as they are now, base it off that.

Problem with locking the standings is that teams have played different numbers of games.

Just trying to think back, have the Flames ever drafted an impact player from the QMJHL?

super excited to see where Marco Rossi lands, hopefully with a good franchise. He's already told Austrian media that, if he doesn't make the NHL out of camp, he'd prefer playing men's hockey in Europe for a year instead of going back to the OHL. Makes sense for sure - after scoring 2.14 points a game, what else is there to prove?

also have Thimo Nickl at 74 and Senna Peeters at 101 in the NA skater list. Might be 3 Austrians this year after not having a single player drafted since 2006!

There's no great option....I think most fair is to seed teams based on points %

You simply go by point percentage obviously.

Honestly I could live with either way, but the standings as they are now are based on games played. Concrete numbers. Points percentage is a guess. An educated guess but still a guess. IMO

TSN suggests a rollback
