I'll start the new thread off with Zidane being savage. If Mourinho said similar, the media would be nuclear.

When I first read that comment from ZZ I thought it had to be a fake. No way a manager would talk about a player that way!

Bahaha, I don't know which thread to put this in, and it's only preseason in Singapore. Kane lobbing Szczesny from halfway is hilarious. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

Pretty classless stuff from Zidane.

He basically is letting everyone know who is in control at Madrid. It is classless, but Zidane played his cards right to have the power he now seems to have.

Bale was so important in zidanes early run too, and was motm in something like 3 of his first 4 finals

Just surprising how little respect he gets now

Spurs have first option on him if I recall correctly?

Whatever deal is going to be done has to involve RM paying a chunk of his wages.

And Bale is in a position where he doesn't have to sign a no talk clause.

The two places that might actually want Bale are MLS and China. I seriously doubt he considers China, but maybe Miami with the Beckham team?

MLS and China are for peripheral players looking to cash in.

Bale has a lucrative contract until 2022. He holds the cards. Why on earth would he want to go there?

Spurs have the first option in the PL. I can see him looking at Bayern, but as you say, he's got all the cards. He still a good player though, and he's not going to China or MLS at this point.

Bayern makes sense, with both Robben & Ribery retiring.

I believe Tottenham’s FRoR, expired June 30, 2019

Unless it was renewed?

I wouldn't imagine it was renewed, and I wasn't sure when the date was that it expired. I think Bale is on wages that would be too much for Spurs, so unless RM is willing to pay a huge chunk it's kind of irrelevant IMO.

His injuries, wages and supposed lack of team involvement and declining impact on the team's performance make Zidane's comments pretty on point though.

Hes not in the plans, hasnt been for a while, but they cant get rid of him because nobody wants to pay what Real think hes worth or willing to assume his wages.

He is and has been persona non-grata at Madrid for a while now but they're largely stuck with each other unless Madrid sell him cheap and retain some of his pay.

So with Zidane trying to rebuild the team its no surprise that hes vocal about wanting to off-load him.

I get that, but this was still a guy who was a key cog in winning a number of trophies. It just comes off as petty and disrespectful.

Financially, the easiest transaction is a swap with United for Pogba.

But like Pogba, doesn't seem Bale wants to be in Manchester.

I imagine he'd want CL football. Honestly out of the top 4 teams, Spurs are the only real fit and I just don't see that happening unless Real pays the majority of his wages. I think Bayern makes the most sense.

I think you guys underestimate the stumbling blocks of his injury history and the outrageous wages. He's a great player, but those things complicate matters. I'd honestly be surprised if a European top club takes him, I could easily see him go to China to be honest.

No doubt about the wages, but are injuries an issue still? He's averaging about 40 games played a season.
