UFC puts on almost weekly events now, it's just too many shows.
Less hassle travelling over seas. He typically only does the PPV's in the US now.

I hate foot stomps. I don't know why; seems cheap.

I was a huge fan from 2007 - 2013, when they were one PPV a month and it felt special. It feels watered down now (too many shows), and not enough personalities / name values as it used to have. Particularly, I miss the fun characters in the heavyweight division in the early days, up to and including the Brock Lesnar era.
I still love the sport, don't get me wrong, but I find myself watching one even every nine months now if it's on free TV, whereas I used to watch in a pub somewhere every single PPV.

kicks to the knee always make me cringe. As for foot stomps, if you are going to stomp the foot, why not stomp the ankle? A well placed stomp would hyper extend certain key ligaments and screw your opponents mobility

There is typically only one PPV a month the rest are ESPN fight nights. With MMA being a fast growing sport and UFC the premier league to fight in they have to increase the amount of fights to keep and attract the talent available. I’m a huge fan so I watch everything including early pre-lims as I love watching fighters rise from the obscure to big superstars. I can see how it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but the amount of talent in the UFC compared to 10 years ago is night and day.

That's fair, to each their own I guess. I liked it when the roster was smaller and they did one PPV a month; not only was it easier to follow, but it also felt more special and main event. Then again, I also miss the Pride days haha. Maybe I'm just reminiscing.

Kattar’s boxing is so fun to watch, good performance by him.
Would love to see him against Holloway after the nose heals.

Anyone watching fight night? Esparza uses her solid take down game to win against Rodriguez, even though she left the rink looking like roger from american dad

That 30-27 score was pretty suspect. There is no way Esparza won all three rounds. I don't think she won that fight at all.

Gus losing to a washed Werdum
Khamzat Chimaev from the first fight of the main card is gonna be a future star in the same mold as Khabib, had two impressive back-to-back performances 10 days apart
The Esparza-Rodriguez fight was very close, had the 1st round to Rodriguez and 3rd for Esparza. Thought Esparza was winning the 2nd until the last 30 seconds, it depends on if you thought the damage Rodríguez did at the end was enough to steal the round. 30-27 Esparza is crazy though.

Great career for DC and I feel terribly for him as I think he really wanted and needed this win for his own personal mindset.
I think he’s a better fighter than Stipe but just wasn’t his night this time.

DC will still be remembered as one of the best fighters in this sport, his only losses have come against the heavyweight and light heavyweight GOATs.
Would've loved to see DC go out with a win, but happy for Stipe too. Had it 4-1 for Stipe.
Stipe's eye poke was absolutely brutal though, it was worse than any of DC's. Hope there isn't any permanent damage and we see him back on the commentary desk soon.
Would like to see Stipe vs Ngannou 2 and Jones vs Reyes 2, if Stipe and Jones win their rematches I think a superfight is warranted. That's a big if though, Jones definitely lost to Reyes the first time and arguably lost to Santos. He is probably on the decline with age and without the juice.

Wonder how much the weight cut is going to affect Kahbib. He did not look in good shape yesterday.

What is with the early afternoon PPV this time? It just seems really odd and I can't imagine PPV purchases are as strong for an afternoon card vs an evening card.

Khabib is a massive star in Europe and the Middle East. They usually do the other Fight Island cards in North America Primetime but they want to attract that audience for this PPV.
This card's been an absolute banger.
I can't bet against Khabib anymore, I think he will submit Gaethje early.
