Am I missing something? This doesn't look like much of a workout. It was like 2 sprints, 5 slo-mo shirtless shots, and him appearing to roll around in pain at the end? I'm sure he does have his fair share of intense workouts, but this video doesn't really show that.

I'm excited to see how he plays this year.

His issue was all about his unwillingness to use his teammates and his defensive awareness. The reason he dropped was that many thought his skating could play at an NHL level but nothing else could.

It’s gonna be real sad to see him turn into a star for Seattle!

I could be remembering incorrectly but I thought he also dropped even further because his interviews did not go well.

Yup, unfortunately, I think he's gone to Seattle after this season. If that's the case, Flames should really look at trying to trade him by season's end.
Even with Hamonic and Brodie gone, barring some sort of under the table with Seattle, I can't see how Flames can keep all of Gio, Andersson, Valimaki, Hanafin, and Kylingon. Something's gotta give. I suppose they can expose Gio, but that would suck too.

Trading Kylington means that the Flames lose him AND another player in expansion draft.
Either you give up picks to protect him (which they probably should), or you let him be taken.

Flames can ill afford to give up more picks, but they potentially give themselves a lot of defensive stability for quite a few years if they can keep this crew together.
Gio and Andersson look good together, but Gio has worked very well with Brodie over the years as well. He definitely loves playing with a smooth skating partner, so if we have to part with Brodie I could see Kylington getting a shot with Gio to see what's there. OK definitely needs to bring a lot more this year in confidence and puck moving to be that Brodie-Gio fit I could see him providing, but this guy still has so much more room to grow.
Pretty sure I'm messing with everyone's handedness all over the place here... but Gio - Kylington
Andersson - Hamonic
Valimaki - Hanifin
Is a pretty good looking group of defenceman worth keeping around.
Anyone have a best guess at what kind of pick Tre would have to give up to keep these guys away from Seattle? 2nd?

As we probably want to protect all 6 D, I would try to offer a pick to insist that Seattle take a forward

It's probably a first, but if the team is contending, it'll be low. And I'd rather give up firsts to keep young talent than to acquire rentals. It's not an ideal reality, but it's definitely plausible

Are you sure you're not thinking of Valimaki?
I don't remember any rumours about Kylington at the deadline.

Yeah I think the rumour of Valimaki being off the trade table for Stone somehow got bastardize into Kylington being off the table because I haven't seen sources for that.

I agree. The work out was nothing special. And honestly, based on klington physique he looks pretty skrawny.

I wasn't expecting Kylington to make it to the NHL originally. I based it on how far he fell in the draft. That is usually a big warning sign. Having said that, I saw the use of a 2nd rounder to draft him as a reasonable risk.
He looked so slight when he was drafted as well. He didn't seem to have the build to play physically. But last season, he started to prove me wrong big time. He was a lot more physical than I expected and just a phenomenal skater. I am really excited to see what he can do this year.

That would be odd since the expansion draft is 2021.

He is shredded not skrwany. I like to see you do sprints with 90 pounds tied to you.
