How is the term "perfect"? I would rather not pay a 34, 35, 36, and then 37 (technically 36.9) year old goalie 6 million dollars.

More than I would want the Canucks to pay for longer than I would want the Canucks to go BUT for Flames this is a good deal. Great if his play doesnt fall off in the last few years.

Does this finally put Sigalet on the hot seat? If Markstrom has a down year will will Sigalet have to eat some of that? Does Markstrom ask the Flames to hire his old goalie coach?

The Colonel Steve Austin contract.

It was going to be hard to sign him for less. If you're convinced Flames needed a true #1, you're happy.

If you think goalies are voodoo, then not so much I suppose.

Another guy Treliving steals from under the Oilers noses.

Earlier today dummy Staples posted one of his usual overconfident articles titled "I’m betting on the Oilers to sign Markstrom": NHL insiders say Edmonton in hot pursuit of big goalie. Of course he edited it after they were out of the running, but still. Haha, suck it oil!

Flames now have two 2020 Pacific all star goalies.

IMO This is a pretty good tandem

Do we see Rittich moved now? 8.75 in the goaltending tandem is not too bad, but getting a cheaper backup might be a way to free up some space.

I like this signing and glad its Markstrom and not Talbot coming back. Good job by Treliving.

I wonder what happens with Rittich. I have a feeling he will get traded at some point this off-season.

$6M/yr for a bona fide starter goalie. I am OK with it. We now have a real goaltender, people! It's been 7 years since we did...

So, Lundqvist goes to Washington,
Holtby goes from Washington to Vancouver,
Markström goes from Vancouver to Calgary,
Talbot goes from Calgary to Minnesota and
Dubmyk goes from Minnesota to San Jose.

Sort of funny.

If you didn't have Demko, would you be ok with this deal?
