Default Ducks acquire FA Chris Stewart

@andystrickland: Free agent Chris Stewart is nearing a one-year deal with the #NHLducks and won't be returning to the #MNwild. Announcement expected soon

Are you the source for this or something?

Might want to give a link when posting things.

He's more likely to be a Duck killer at this point.

Ducks add another huge forward to their roster. Kings and Ducks are just massive teams

Assuming it's a one year contract with a nominal cap hit this is a good depth pick up for them. Almost no risk, and potentially a big upside.

He didn't play well on the Sabres and that isn't exactly a nail in the coffin. Plus, even when he isn't playing his best he will get you 15 goals and 40 points.

Those are going to be fun games to watch, lots of size, truculence and toughness on both squads, and they can both play hockey too.

Yes... but this huge forward sucks so good for us.

I think he'll get a lot of tap in gifts from Getzlaf and will cash in next off-season.

Decent low risk move. If he could find chemistry with Getzlaf and Perry it could look like a real nice deal.

hopefully his lazy and uncommitted style of play brings the ducks down come playoff time

Added your comma, but I'm not sure I agree. He doesn't go 100% of the time, but I think with Anaheim's leadership this could work out very well for them.

Flames will be improving in the West, but Anaheim/LA are BIG teams... don't think we have what it takes to get past them yet.

Didn't we get past LA when we eliminated them from playoff contention in a head to head matchup no less.

Anahiem is good, but I think they at peak. How long they can stay there remains to be seen. Their not better than last season so far, but they also didn't lose or gain much.

Size is important but we'll see how the Flames do with some upgrades and experience next year. They may be better matchup than many think.

Eric Stephens @icemancometh
Can confirm earlier reports of Ducks nearing agreement with winger Chris Stewart on one-year deal. Hearing around $1.5-2M range.

Good deal if that's all it takes.

Ducks, Flames and Stars loading up so far this offseason, should be a fun season.

Seriously thought, remember his early years in Colorado and how he was the next Jarome Iginla? Good times.

Speaking about Iginla and Colarado, wonder how he feels about all the teams getting better and his teams not
