Default Best movers?

Hey - we’re moving in March and I’m looking for a recommendation on a mover. From far NE Calgary to Airdrie, so not a huge distance. Won’t need anything stored or anything, just house to house, three bedroom townhouse to a small single family home. Just don’t want to get ripped off or anything. Thanks!

I've had a lot of success with Highland Moving.

I made the mistake of thinking I hired a mover, but instead got a shaker.

I'll second Highland Moving. 3 guys showed up, and they busted their hump taking almost no breaks at all. I even offered to buy lunch as we went between the locations and they refused. Quick, professional...I was pretty impressed with them, and due to a military background, I've seen/used a lot of moving companies.

I am curious as to what metrics will be used to determined the best mover?

You must be excited to know that despite moving further north of the city, but yet it will only take you 12 minutes to get downtown

Movers are money well spent IMO compared to relying on friends/family.

That said, it never hurts to provide a little sustenance, juice, and a tip to the boys.

Highland padded their hours the last time I used them. Moved to Premiere and they've been good for the last couple of moves.

I second Premiere. Have used them quite a lot over the last 5 years professionally, and they have always been good to work with.

My father in law Mario runs Acrosstown Movers. His small business has been running successfully for 30+ years and does work for many of the home builders across the city. He personally works on every job so you’re not going to end up with an unreliable or unsupervised crew. You can give him a call at or 403-281-0050 or email mario@acrosstownmovers.com .

I'm looking for movers for mom as she moves into something smaller. So good with a kind old mom, gentle with her fragile old lady stuff, good insurance, etc.

Anyone have good recommendations?

I used Best Moves last year and they were fine. Quick, worked hard, didn’t damage anything.

My mind fried for a second when I saw I posted this thread. Old bump lol.

I will say we ended up going with Gilbert's Mountain Movers for the move I was asking about here and they were awesome:

I always use Jim Delay for residential or commercial moves.

I hired movers and when they got the stuff all to my house, they started drinking my beer and got wasted and took forever to unload. What a day that was.

Life lesson - tell your movers that there is beer for them when they FINISH

Best storage rental for approximately 7x10 to 10x10 for a few months?
