A curling game showed up on the eShop recently and it went on sale for $6 so I took one for the team and bought it. It’s absolute garbage. Nintendo should be ashamed of the huge load of crap they let on the store.

They've been letting any crap that people send them go on the system since the Wii Shop Channel, so this is unfortunately nothing new. Look at any game that goes 90% off on the Switch eShop and it's all the same.

I wish they would stop doing that. Letting crap games onto eshop. Cheapens the whole console. We have that garbage on app stores and it’s just ignored.
I wish nintendo would put out their top 50 games and leave it at that. No more garbage on e shop.
There are some cool, niche games out there that are small but deserve a chance to be seen, and then there is a bunch of pretty bad stuff too.
Personally, I'm bothered less by the presence of bad games than I am by how clunky and awkward the eshop is for filtering and finding games. I kind of wish it could have an algorithm that gets to know what you like and filters according to that. As is, it's really not that easy to wade through tonnes of uninteresting games to find the ones I might like. Better filtering and search functions on the shop would go a long way to solving the problem.

A lot of the games that get deeply discounted to get on the best sellers list are actually decent. I've bought some for a buck or two and they're fun, even in only for an hour or two. I wouldn't pay full price for them so I don't trust games on the best sellers list unless I look it up first.
A rating system would help tremendously. The curling game I bought was just broken. Someone slapped it together using Unity and put it in the store. I knew I was taking a chance buying it but if I was able to see what others thought then I wouldn't have to take that chance. And if it wasn't rated yet I could add mine to warn others. Also, as you say, an algorithm that learns from your purchases and ratings would help make the store much better.
Nintendo relies on its vast catalogue of IP and quirky hardware, but it can't do online services to save its life.

Have you used the Nintendo website? That's how I do most of my searching/buying.
Recommend for me some online games where four people can play at once, but with two on each console.
We play Overcooked 2 with some friends but we are kind of done with it now, so we are looking for more options. Mario Kart is another one that allows 2+2 online play. Are there any other good ones?
It is surprisingly difficult to find games that fit the bill. Even games that would seem like they should support this type of play often don’t. Monopoly, 51 Clubhouse Games, etc. are all lacking.
