Lochdown was okay. Felt more like a series of set pieces from a regular episode than a cohesive adventure. The driving big cars through tiny European cities and taking cars off road that shouldn't has been done before but still lots of laughs and the bridge building bit was pretty awesome.

A new special/episode came out yesterday and I thought it was pretty awful. I barely made it through the episodes and thought about turning it off a couple times. The crew of Hammond, May and Clarkson are definitely done and there time has passed.
The French episode was definitely feeling tired. But I also believe they did that specifically to jab at the French. They've long had a strong dislike of France throughout the decades.
If it weren't a mockery of France they'd taken more time celebrating Frances involvement in motor racing but they didn't. Because it is a key piece of motorsports evolution and history. Le Mans didn't even get a sniff.
Besides, when it comes to French production cars, are they even wrong? Literally the most arse backwards cars in history.
I liked it, I'll always watch them. There's only 2 more they have left anyways I think.

It was okay, there were definitely some chuckles but it did seem somewhat strained.
I enjoyed it overall but it definitely lists among some of their weaker fare.
Trying to do this among COVID protocols as well as the fact that a lot of the presenters and their production staff are drifting off to other projects has shone through.

Funny I always seem to have an opposite opinion. I thought it was way better then the last Lockdown special. It felt like a regular episode in a lot of ways which was fine with me.
I think though they are all more focused on their own shows. This isn't their main show anymore, just something they do for fans really.
I haven't gotten through the whole thing yet but it doesn't seem that great to me. I'm at the part where they made it to Finland and I had to shut it off as it was a bit boring.

That was great, one of their all time best specials. It had a clear objective, gorgeous scenery, cars that I love, some funny set pieces, and James May almost dies twice. I was fascinated by the 2nd time in the lake and the clever recovery solution.
I read a review comparing the quality to the Mongolia special and realized I haven't seen the Mongolia special. Time to rectify that.
