Looking for a forward. Wallmark would be going back as a fourth liner to make sure that I don't run into roster issues down the road. He was on the Swedish Olympic team, but is currently without a contract in the NHL next season.

I have to offer Artur Kayumov (also on the Russian Olympic team), Max Cajkovic (lit up juniors last year) and Max Gildon (NCAA star patiently waiting for injuries in Florida).

This is clearly a deal for teams that need to increase the overall value of their minor leagues. Good prospects, wild cards, but all three are gambles that could land anywhere in terms of future value. Kayumov is coming to a depleted Chicago team next year, and has a good chance of sticking after three years in the KHL. Gildon has the best chance of a long career. Cajkovic has to outplay Lightning players, which is the only stumbling stone.

If Gildon is moving, I might need a scrub AHL D to appease the watchdog.

It's a four for one (two) swap, so for all players going I'm looking for a CPHL regular top nine. I can also mix and match for the right player with lesser stats, but fits my roster.

It's the 'I inherited a team that traded away its prospects' special!

Everyone wants the exact same thing (high end pick and prospects) and everyone else not wanting to trade what everyone wants (high end picks and prospects).

You see an issue?

You have good stuff new guy, think outside the box and make some crafty deals. Decide what direction you want to go and try to do it without trying to acquire the thing that everyone else wants.

Jason Dickenson (Canucks RFA, seeing top six deployment under the new regime, which is a far cry from the first half of the season)

Isiah Saville (in CPHL's ECHL, IRL strong goalie prospect on a sub-par team, but very well thought of in hockey circles)

for

a pending UFA in the 70+OVR range, that can play wing. Dickenson is 69OVR, so I'm looking for a bit of a bump with a player that doesn't have a future on their current team. If it's only a small increase in rating, I can also use 200K in cap to even things out (I have a player coming off of IR).

I may wait until the offseason to restructure. This is more a boredom with the current roster post and open for deals than anything. But I’m definitely open to some moves now that they make sense.

Obviously I value some players a lot higher than others. But I will be looking to reshape the roster and rebuild the ECHL and AHL before next season.
