I’m really enjoying the game pass ultimate and finding value in it but getting back outside limits my use. With the limited Microsoft first party studio games on series x so far, I’m sincerely looking forward to seeing the service awash in new games in the next 12 to 18 months.

Limited? Microsoft hasn't released a first party game for Xbox Series yet, and has no release dates set for any first party games. That's crazy. There's only so far indies and multiplatform games will take a platform.
Halo and Starfield better knock everyone's socks off next week and be coming this fall.
I wouldn't be surprised if Starfield was multiplatform. I'm sure most, if not all Bethesda games will be exclusive eventually but this one has been in development for a long time and Microsoft only finalized buying Zenimax pretty recently.

Basically zero chance they will put Starfield on non-gamepass systems.

Yeah, Phil Spencer had already said this. Other than the commitments with Sony for Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo, all future Zenimax online games (Bethesda, Id, Arkane, etc) will be exclusive to platforms where Game Pass exists, full stop.

This isn't true, Microsoft has released The Medium that is next gen and PC only.

But why? You seem angry about a subscription on a platform that you don’t own.
I’ve had lots of games to play and catch up on. Finished Star Wars squadrons, continue to play forza horizon, steep is good, ea sports games too.
Perhaps this is the thunder dome so piling on seems legit but we are in a global pandemic so I’ve tempered my expectations.
And I’ve literally never cared less what Sony does with ps5.
