Another one I slept on too long is Umbrella Academy. 4 episodes in and I’m very much enjoying it.

Superman and Lois. This show by all accounts should suck but it's in fact fantastic.

Just started The Righteous Gemstones, and if the first episode is anything to go by this is gonna be a wild ride. Normally I'm not a big fan of Danny McBride since most of his stuff is cringe humor revolving around how much of a jackass his character is, but that actually works extremely well in a megachurch preacher role

Jody Hill shows Eastbound and Down, Vice Principals and Righteous Gemstones) get consistently better each episode. The first few episodes are insanely good.

I couldn't get into those other two because it was just too much McBride, but in Gemstones he's balanced out nicely by John Goodman and Adam Devine

I am finally going through Dark... it's really good. Just have to leave it on German with subs.

I started watching season 4 of 24 on Disney plus and it's like I'm watching it for the first time. I loved season 1 and 2 of 24 but remember not really liking season 3. I of course watched the other seasons but since watching S4 again I clearly remember nothing that happens. It's been fun watching this again

Anything with Walton Goggins is golden. Dude is one of the more underrated actors around IMO.

He was brilliant in Justified also, and one of the few good things about SOA. I even enjoy The Unicorn.

And to think the Boyd Crowder character was supposed to die in the first episode.
I really need to re-watch that series.

I still remember that he was an extra in Wing Commander IV. Also had a hole in his swing in Major Leagues back to the minors.

I've been watching Marvel's Legion again, seasons 1 (for the third time) and season 2 (first time all the way through).
I love it. Better Lynchian dreamworlds than anything Lynch himself has done in twenty years, with honestly a lot more to say about the world than Lynch ever had.

The Shield is fantastic. Great cast, great story, and has been copied a fair amount in terms of style. Also, a planned series, so the ending is fantastic. If you like cop shows, this one is a must.

I recommend a great BBC comedy called Ladhood. First season is only 6 episodes at around 23ish minutes a pieces so you can knock it out in one night. It's simply a guy in his 30s reflecting on his experiences as a 15 year old. But it's all parts hilarious, frustrating, sad, nostalgic and really captures the messiness of growing up.

Just a nonstop parade of people getting backstabbed and murdered in the most horrific way possible every episode, followed by lengthy periods of loud grieving scenes. I feel so drained after watching it, and not in a fun, roller coaster way either.
Only 3 more episodes in S5 so I'm feeling the need to finish it, but I don't know if I can do another 20 eps of this for the final season...
|
Glad I didn't give up and decided to push through to wrap up the series, as like a bad novel, I couldn't stop that close to the end. I've actually really enjoyed season 6 so far (I've watched 14 of 20 eps of S6 to date). It's night & day better than S5. They even managed to humanize Ivar - at least to the 14 episode point anyway. The whole Rus & Oleg angle has been riveting.

Ya, the conclusion of this season made it worth it. I found it a fairly satisfying wrap up.
