The results aren't there.
The underlying stats are terrible.

The only reason this team is anywhere near .500 and not in the basement with the Sens is because of goaltending.

Just because Treliving just recently made the colossal mistake of giving this terrible coach the reigns, doesn't mean he should double or triple down on that mistake.
You're probably right on a lot of this, but even if you aren't... this season (win or lose) is shaping up to be the most boring on-ice product dating back to Gulutzan.

So totally weird and random observation that has nothing to do with tonight's game, and it's only here because I was in this thread. I get advertisement on the site and I very much appreciate that the ads on CP are totally unobtrusive and not annoying. The placement of them is fantastic unlike HF where the ads are bonkers annoying and the second main reason I no longer visit that site, but why does it seem that 75% of the ads are for ladies fashion and bras on a forum that I assume is 75%? 90% men?
Like I said totally random thought for what has been a very weird day for me!

There were a number of us in the off-season talking about how key this guy is to the future of this team. Legit top-line winger. Aggressive all over the ice, awesome shot - he carries the same competitive edge that Andersson does and it's absolutely awesome.
\While I find the stats interesting, it would be really helpful if guys that posted them also put either a league average or a comparable. Fore ex. Crosby. then we can see if these random numbers are actually good. Just a suggestion.

If they want any hope of salvaging this season I think they have to win all 4 games here. I don’t think 3-1 will be good enough.

If we needed anymore proof that there will be zero Tkachuk vs Tkachuk fights as the #Sens and #Flames face off 5 times in the next 6....here’s Matthew:

So that means they will?

lol. We play a hard 20 mins and we win.

Making the playoffs isn't the problem. It's in the playoffs that is the problem. Ward isn't the man.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Looks like Nikita Nesterov comes back in tonight in Ottawa. Per NHL media site, Oliver Kylington removed from the active roster.

Buddy Robinson added to the roster, so he’s an option tonight on the fourth line. #Flames

Makes sense to sub a couple fresh bodies in for a back to back but Kylington has looked really good. He should be back in ASAP.

It’s not like Kylington has received a heavy workload over the past two games. This is Ward doing Ward things.

It kind of goes back to my prior comments.

The rest of the Canadian teams are just stomping all over Ottawa. You have to take those points.

We might not be far back now, but Ottawa isnt getting any better. Our direct competitors will be taking points off the Sens so we have to make sure we take ours.

Montreal is stomping the Sens? Four would be nice but they don't have to win all four or season over don't be ridiculous. Heck they win 3 they will be in a playoff spot with plenty of games left against the teams in the race. All the other teams are playing each other and somebody will lose.

Nope, just winning isn’t good enough around here. They have to absolutely dominate to only have five players questioned.

Yeah man. I get that. But the Sens are the worst team in the League.

The. Worst.

The Vegas bookmakers would probably rank the Seattle Kraken as a better team than the Ottawa Senators and they dont even exist yet.

They're not even trying. These points should be the equivalent of trying to extract candy from a pinata with a Howitzer.

And frankly, we're not going all that hot-awesome against the better teams, so those teams are taking points from Ottawa and us.

I'm not saying its 'season over' but it is an indictment of the team.

Exactly. I thought he played the best out of him, Nesterov, and Mackey.

This is all Treliving trying to exploit Kylington's two way deal, at the expense of the team.
