ARX is a good longer term play, just bought VII, theyll be about 60% NG and 40% liquids when the merge completes in April. Strong balance sheet, good debt to cash, pays a dividend and will be the 6th biggest upstream producer in canada when all said and done.

I bought at $50, only $3000 worth and am down obviously $1000. Starting to think this was a mistake as I don’t know when the next round of funding will be. When will the government actually allow single game betting? Is there an eta on this?

Bleeding red everywhere.
The only gainer I've got on the day is a little envelope company SXP that I bought ages ago for defence and the fat dividend, which they cut when the pandemic hit (sewering their value as a defensive stock). It was up about 30% from the start of the week today and likely triggered a standing sell order i put in at a level that would see me recoup my initial investment. Happy with that, but definitely feeling spooked with some of the short term spec moves I've made recently.
All the more reason to turn focus to long term plays at the moment.

So ugly. I just started investing a little over a month ago and most of my portfolio is set and forget about it but it still hurts.

The way this stock has been, it can get back to $50 in a week. Limited shares available on US IPO I hope there is some momentum coming but they have a solid foundation with their media and their name, they will be fine.

I am setting up a plan to save money from my pay cheques to buy some stock in an American company once a month. I have TD webbroker all set up. Just wondering what the cheapest way to do it is, whether I should buy the stock in my Canadian TFSA, or my American one? Or is there much difference at all?

Only big difference is if the company pays a dividend. Dividends for American Exchange Companies are taxed in Canadian TFSA. I keep high dividend american investments in my RRSP and try to keep American growth/low dividend stocks in my TFSA..

They did a reverse split @ 10:1 so trading at $35 is really $3.50
