I figured the Wings would flourish in the Eastern Conference but that hasn't been the case so far. The Wings have been put on a pedestal as a team that plays the right way with their possession style but IMO they have always got away with a lot of interference/obstruction that maybe was better suited to the more grinding Western Conference. Possibly not as easy to get away with all their obstruction and slowing down teams in the more free wheeling Eastern Conference.

Are we seeing a clear distinction in Ramo becoming the number 1? I certainly feel more confident when I know he's in for a game like this.

Detroit has the legacy but their current play is not living up to it. I hope that this one will be close and the Flames can find their scoring again.

Took him long enough to break up the trade line. Surprised he didn't go back to his golden boy Berra.

I will be at this game tonight. Hopefully Detroit's losing streak continues. I'm not too confident of a Flames win at this point. Last time Calgary was in town, there weren't too many fans, I hope more come out tonight. Go Flames Go.

Such early games... hard to get home for.

For the GTD, is it possible to through an @ in the title for home/away?

It seems the Flames play better defense around Ramo than Berra.. That, or Ramo is just better than Berra.

Wings are missing Abdelkader, DeKeyser, Franzen. Helm, Howard, Nyquist, Weiss, and Zetterberg. Alfredsson missed practice yesterday and they called up Tootoo.

Datsyuk just got back into the line up and I don't think he's at 100% yet.

The Flames should be taking 2 road points against a heavily-AHL Red Wing roster.

For some reason, despite how everything else has gone, the Flames have had success recently in Detroit. 5-2-2 in the last five seasons.

On top of that, the Wings are winless since the 24/7 cameras started rolling.

Three busloads of Big Brodie Fans...

Just watched it last night. HBO does an excellent job with that series.

For some reason it really made me laugh that Big Ern is the guy responsible for putting on Christmas music in the dressing room. How can you not love that big teddy bear?

Read that on Sean Monahan's twitter last night. Had a good chuckle. I guess one of the main reasons they brought him back last year was the amount of morale he brings to the dressing room, I just love stuff like this.

Terrifying on the ice, big lug off the ice. Half the stuff he tweets about are his two small dogs, playing video games and doing stuff with his wife and sons. You really get the sense he appreciates the little things in life after getting sober

Berra's last two games were against Boston -- both losses. Only let in two goals each game though.

My preference at this stage is Ramo as he is more polished, whereas Berra is a bit of a work in progress. I'm happy to see them alternate, with a win giving you the next start, and then splitting back-to-backs.

Hopefully the Flames take a dump on these Wings. Detroit has been pretty bad lately so should be a good chance to get points.
