I think it is very good for the type of pizza it is, which is dated. But for me it dates back to my teens which I like. Topping heavy, lots of sauce and cheese.

Really nothing like a “real” pizza.

But it is very well done.

It scratches a pizza itch I get

POW Pizza, same owner as Without Papers. Once his nutball crazy came out during the pandemic it went under quite quickly and was quickly rebranded and reopened as..... 8 Mile Pizza. Everyone assumed it was the same owner, but nope, it was apparently a different ownership.

A couple months later, it rebranded again..... This time to Red Top Pizza. This place I actually tried and it was pretty good. At the point, no idea the ownership or what the heck is happening but seemed to be around for a year.

Until recently is has rebranded AGAIN. This time to New York Pizzeria.

I have no idea what is happening but by my count that is 5 businesses in the same location in 3ish years. I have no idea what is happening besides them changing hands every 3-6 months.

Does anyone know anything on this?
I tried the new place today and it was decent but definitely nothing special. I'd honestly prefer Domino's for less money.

I live just south of this place down Deerfoot - pretty surprised I had never tried it as I love pizza. It was pretty good for this style of pie, which is my favorite\ sort.

I’ll go back again for sure.

This is insane to me.

Boston Pizza 18" pizza is around $35.00

Noble Pie 18" is around $34-$37

Bow Tie is around $35.00 for a 14" (albeit thicker) pizza

Just no comparison in quality here.

I have no idea how Boston Pizza stays in business honestly.
Their food sucks, their pizza costs more than most places and its basically fast food.

Some people love it, the same way some people love McDonalds. Consistency, nostalgia, favorite items. It's why I still go to Humptys for pan scramblers.

They’re like Tim Hortons. Middling offerings that are neither great nor awful. I guess it offers consistency if you’re the type who doesn’t want to try new restaurants when traveling to other cities.

Small towns, they stay in business because of small towns and youth sport teams.

When my kids were younger, BP was a bit of a godsend. I know the standard complaints, and they're valid... but it's one of the few places I felt my kids could be annoying brats and it was acceptable because the place is always full of way worse annoying brats.

Also–unpopular opinion incoming–it's expensive, but I don't think it's bad.

Burgers there are terrible, pizza is okay, pasta can taste like ketchup. Salads are good.

Yeah I'm with you. It's not great, but it's fine. They have some stuff I like, despite never being my choice of place to go. There are plenty of more extreme examples of "How is this place in business" than Boston Pizza

I'm near Sammy's and Crispy Crust, which are two of my favs in the city, but I don't always want that style and miss Jon's. I definitely crave that type from time to time, and Jon's nailed it

We had a BP in our small town. that was about it.

My mom still goes to BP. she, allegedly, likes the pizza but i think its nostalgia and what-you-know.

I could be wrong, but i remember that pizza being much better when i was a kid. The dough is basically cardboard.

In response, its not bad pizza. Yes, true. It's not terrible (when is pizza, really?) but you can get way better pizza in Calgary for the same amount of money you pay.

This sort of applies to all chain restaurants. I think the idea is that these places make decent food but at a cheaper price than independent places. They probably can, but they are soaking up the difference in profit because those chains are spitting out $20.00 burgers nowadays.

Moxies: Cheeseburger $19.75
Browns: Trad Pub burger $21.50
Earls: Bacon Cheddar: $24.75
Alumni Sandwiches: Double Burger $13.95 ($4.95 for fries)
Native Tongues Burger: $16.00

Those prices are insane.

I still consider BP better than other Canadian mainstays like Swiss Chalet, Tim Hortons, or Harveys. Boston Brutes never let me down.

That's the lowest of bars.

I say that as a lover of the Spicy Perogy.
