2017-2018 Stats:
In 73 games: 4 goals + 28 assists = 32 points.

It'll be interesting to see how Brodie rebounds playing with Giordano again. There's lots to like about Brodie's game, offensively and defensively. I'm expecting a big year from the top pairing!

My favourite plays of his: Even though he had 2 primary OT assists (@LA and vs CHI) he should have had 3 more. His spinorama pass to Janko @ TOR, his backdoor pass to Monahan @ MIN, and his neat hip pivot and backhand pass to Tkachuk @ SJ all should have been goals.

Great vid AC! Even though it was considered by many a down year for Brodie, a few things pop out after watching the vid:

His gap control is second only to Gio, who I think is one of the best in the league for. Whether offending or defending, his stick and body positioning rarely puts him out of place. As opposition, it’s hard to get going when you basically have a shadow that doesn’t make mistakes - this is a big strength of Brodie in my opinion and takes years of practice.

His speed and skating ability allows him to have great gap control. One begets the other; I’d argue that without his speed and effortless skating, his gap control would suffer. These attributes really make him ideally suited for today’s NHL.

Hoping for a solid year from #7 this year - excited to see what he can go under Peters.

Awesome job again AC! After the rookies I don't suppose you would consider doing Mike Smith? I know you usually don't do the goalies but I know you would do an amazing job. I would love to see some of Smith's big/clutch saves as well as his awesome puck handling/passing skills.

Yeah I think I have to make a Mike Smith video at this point. I'm getting a lot of requests for it, so I'll add him to the poll options.

It also means I will have to try and put together a Kipper Flames career video during the season...

whether or not he returns to the form he showed on gio's right side remains to be seen. but it will be pretty cool to have 2 elite skating dmen in brodie and hanifin.
