I cant wait to see him failing to keep up with the play again this year and Chiarelli trying to fumble his way through it when he gets called out on these comments.

you know it's sad when the GM has to make such statements in order to justify his own stupid moves to the hockey world and the fans.
Hilarious.

He'll put that weight back on in no time after a few late night, post game, held off the score sheet, depression loss, cheeseburgers.

Their speed measurements were for locker room banter.

The stats guy up in Edmonton are just throwing out numbers. Maybe his base line from last year was him just falling down and they just went with it.

The Oilers will have another Dynasty on their hands; the past is indicative of that....as long as McDavid can reach a top speed of 88 miles an hour.

Nobody else came to mind off the top of my head - all I could think of were hideous dudes. Googline 'handsome nhl players' was actually pretty humorous: top google results showed a line of thumbnails including greasy looking P.Kane, Andrew Ference, Carey Price, Chris Higgins, Karlsson, Crosby, and Letang. Only Higgins. Actual article has better picutres ( https://www.theodysseyonline.com/top-20-hottest-nhl-players ), but author still has odd taste, or maybe there are only six good looking dudes in the league.

That Lucic comment is funny
Did some searching and they have all star guys in the fastest skater comp going like 27MPH, so they're above average. Lets assume the average guy is 23MPH and Lucic was 19MPH.
Tack on 45% and he's now trucking at 28MPH and edging McDavid at the next skills competition.

Maybe Chia was taking into account how fast Lucic was on the backcheck last year compared to testing this year. Either that or he used a "new" piece of equipment called a booster pack.

If anyone read the article, its wasn't in skating. it was in off ice agility and movement drills.

Ever since people started talking about him as handsome (my sister-in-law included) I've looked more carefully at him and determined that he's actually quite odd looking. But then, most people that are considered beautiful/handsome tend to be a little odd looking.

It's almost as if people are in fact not built in laboratories with flawless symmetry or something. Crazy huh.

or you could the entire comment...

The speed and agility testing we have four tests - I would probably say from last year to this year between 45 and 60 percent improvement. Significant improvement. You know those pro agility tests, those shuttle runs - significant improvement. You can see it on the ice.
|
so he can see off ice agility on the ice?

No, the off ice tests he improved by 45-60% Which translated into visually better speeds on the ice.

You learn a lot by losing.
Always losing tends to be more depressing than inspiring.
