If you like crime / mystery books with heavy socioeconomic tones, nordic noir is good stuff.

Personally I prefer Kurt Wallander -books by Henning Mankell. They're available in English and propably easily available. (Wallander is also the main character in plenty of movies, which mostly are not based on the books. There are even English versions, I believe.)

The Millennium series has more sex and violence, in comparison.

Thought I would post this version of the trailer as the red band version has been taken down. This trailer is awesome. The song, if anyone is wondering, is a cover by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross with Karen O (from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) on vocals.

Has the potential to be the best baseball movie in a generation or two (not a lot of competition beyond Fever Pitch). Sorkin's as good as it gets with movie adaptions and finding the interesting stories in mundane things, Miller's a solid (if inexperienced) director, and the cast is great. If it can avoid being too sappy, it should be good.

^ Cannot wait for that movie. Any film that is an adaption of a Micheal Lewis book is worth a watch.

2 is terrible. Three is pretty sweet though. Although the movies seem to be going the route of "big special effects = story". The first one was a well though out spy thriller with very limited special effects. In that trailer you see Cruise running from what appears to be a nuclear explosion. A little over the top IMO.

I'm interested in Mission: Impossible 4 for one reason only: it's the first live-action film directed by Brad Bird. I doubt the guy that gave us "The Incredibles", "Ratatouille", and "The Iron Giant" is going to pull a Michael Bay and shoot nothing more than two hours of nonsense action and explosions without a good plot and story.

That's very true. Not to mention they got Jeremy Renner who is a proper bad ass unlike Tom Cruise.

I never saw 3 but I heard it was quite good. Should go and watch it.

The one thing that's kinda cool about the Mission Impossible trilogy is that all three have totally different styles. De Palma, Woo and Abrams all brought something different to the table and it's just a matter of taste as to which one you like better. I'm a huge fan of all three, and think I like 3, 2, and 1 in that order. MI3 was my favorite for sure. The bridge top gun fight scene was just intense and Phillip Seymour Hoffman was easily the best villain of the 3.

Really looking forward to the new one. Should be fun. Little curious about the Xmas release date and the thinking behind that as opposed to the usual May-June release.

Yup. Too soon to reboot the franchise. Might see it anyway against my better judgement.

Yea, not really looking forward to it. Just from the trailer it seems they made Parker into a emo loner as opposed to socially awkward science geek. That's a huge part of the charm of Spidey gone right there. Spiderman, unlike Batman, does not require a gritty reboot, I always thought Spiderman was more about the fun then him being a vigilante.

There is no way this movie does well when it comes out so close to The Dark Knight Rises. It will have 2 weeks of decent money and then TDKR will take over.

Really I would not want to go toe to toe with that movie if I was a studio.

^^^ I can't believe they are rebooting the Spiderman franchise already. The first Spiderman only came out 9 years ago!

Oh well, I guess since 14 year old girls with no taste are the leading music demographic, nerdy fanboys who just want escapist action are the leading film demographic now. We're doomed to a continued future of bubblegum pop and endless comic book and graphic novel movies.

The dumb thing is the first two Spiderman movies were pretty good, it's just the third that was such a steaming pile. Couldn't have they just worked around that?

Meh. Doesn't look like anything special and definitely doesn't look worse than the Sam Rami versions but I agree; leave Spider-man alone for a long time.
