Looks interesting but I also think it will bomb unless it gets ridiculous reviews and the hype builds up.

When is the last a movie named "X and the..." hasnt bombed? I feel like naming your movie that pretty muvh guarantees it bombs.

It definitely shows his old Fifth Element stylings. The characters look more subtle though.

Agreed. Never heard of the book, but looks like something I would like.

To me, Fifth Element aged extremely well given its ambitiousness. I'm always down for some space opera.

Also, that's the way trailers should be done. I feel like I've got a sense of the world and the style and the genre, but I come away knowing absolutely nothing about the story.

Totally agreed. I dont want the whole story laid out in 2 minutes. The characters are weird but cool.

Looks great. I will be horribly distracted by the fact the two lead actors look like brother and sister. A real creepy Lanister vibe with those two.

I lasted about 1 minute into that trailer for the new Will Smith movie. I think I can just give up on all movies starring Will Smith from now on.

On the other hand I will be lining up to see Valerian.

How does it look any better than fellow forgettable sci-fi bombs like John Carter and Jupiter Ascending? I would be dumb founded if it even makes $100 million and/or scores 50 or higher on Metacritic.

At least they're bringing it out at a slow time of the year...

• Spider-Man: Homecoming (Sony) - 7/7
• War for the Planet of the Apes (Fox) - 7/14
• Dunkirk (WB) - 7/21
• Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (EC) - 7/21
• The Dark Tower (Sony) - 7/28
• Alien: Covenant (Fox) - 8/4

Oh...

The new Kong: Skull Island trailer definitely has a different feel to it. A lot less serious which is good.

It's also pretty spoilery. I had no idea what the movie was about before and now I think I know too much.
