I mean last year the consensus was Spurs had the best window, and that turned out swimmingly.

Picking the ball out of the hole 18 times a day is pretty painful after a while.

Top four?! Who do they beat to get there? Clearly they’re not better than Liverpool or City, and the next rung (or chasing pack) is something like Chelsea, United, Spurs, Everton? I don’t know if they’re better than any of those teams, never mind two of them. Then you have teams like Wolves, Leicester and Southampton who are sort of in that mix or trying for EL. Arsenal doesn’t seem like they’re much better than those teams. Mid-table and reminiscing about days gone by is probably more accurate.

Yeah, that’s true of course. And having a good window doesn’t always translate to success. But let’s face it...this team needed help, and I’d rather do some good business and take that chance as opposed to doing nothing and hoping we somehow come around. We tried that, and it wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Arteta will likely be dreaming tonight of winning as much silverware in 6 months as Tottenham have won in 23 years.

My dinner table has more silverware than Spurs' trophy cabinet.

VAR in this implementation continues to be a joke. It ruins the flow as it stands, but players are good enough that they’ve got to be kicking the ball at players arms.

Kane with the most ridiculous statline I've ever seen. 4 assists on 7 completed passes, that's incredible.

Yep. Definitely can see that becoming a thing.

Mind you, who would become a sports administrator? Every time you aim to enhance the game you end up causing so many unintended consequences.

It just seems like an easy fix though. Have VAR only slow down to say 1/2 speed (or whatever) and that takes care of the 1mm offside stupidity. Then use some common sense regarding handballs and penalties. It didn’t really matter today, but the “penalty” on Doherty was a completely unavoidable deflection that took place in the corner of the box. A team should not be given a goal (or about a 70% chance of a goal) for that. Like I say, it didn’t change the outcome today but one day it will. Someone will end up relegated or something like that based on a penalty that should never be awarded.

Well, enjoy it while you can. Spurs are moving in the right direction here and signing Bale and Reguilon is a major statement of intent. Might as well take all your shots now, because those days are numbered.

I have to admit, I'm still a little steamed that Chelsea got both Werner and Havertz.

VAR gets that one right. That was ridiculous. That tackle would be illegal in Rugby.

Its so nice having Thiago in that playmaking role so that you can slide Fabinho back to CB on occasion.

I'd love to see what the two of them could do together.

Its also nice that Thiago is fresh off the CL so hes in mid-season shape.

Only question left with Kepa is he is the worst signing in history? No way their results since signing him are any different if Caballero was playing. Might as well have lit £72 million on fire.

I like Timo, but he needs service and its been pretty meagre so far...Havertz though, once he gets settled and used to the pace of the PL I think is going to be a gem.

I also sort of get it, at this stage in their careers, Timo would be a bench player for Liverpool and who is Havertz going to displace between Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago?
