This is a fantastic deal. I wonder how much the Flames believing in him, and being on a young promising team worked to lower the price.
For Ferland he's a wonderful success over your demons story.
For the Flames, in a world of "pay for potential" glad to see they avoided that.
In short: "Brad is a wizard. Ferls is a good guy." Can't get much more Calgary than that.

That would be my one remark as well - that 3rd year would've been nice because then as Ferly comes up for an extension, Frolik and Brouwer both come off the cap.
Hoping Bennett gets 3 years to avoid that cap crunch.

I think I had him at 1.85 on a two year deal, so this is a pretty good rate if true.
If Ferland can stay motivated and make the most out of the tools he has, he can really make himself a lot of money in the NHL. Big bodies who can keep pace in todays game and shoot like he can are tough to come by.
If he plays so well that he walks ala Kristian Huselius for a big deal in two years, the Flames will be big time winners here.
