Just like we wait until the trade deadline and we are still “in it” when we clearly know we aren’t. Pick a lane and not have all your hopes on one average first line center wanting to stay at over market value.
Where is Sec214? Save us from ourselves. Give us hope.
Lindholm, Hanifin, and Toffoli are the only trades I care about in the offseason. Tanev, and Backlund probably all have the same or better value at the deadline.

Assuming they don't get hurt or we don't decide to keep them for a run at 9th.
It's somewhat alarming to see teams that could be potential landing spots for guys we want to trade fill those spots with other players. But not exactly a sellers market so far. Hard to fault Conroy when the Avalanche are able to get a guy 50% retained for a cap dump

I think the Blues are a much more likely landing spot for Hanifin than anyone else so if they are moving Krug and Parayko as rumoured that might actually help us.
And it doesn't look like they are giving up pieces that we could have got, as Kyrou is worth way more than Hanifin, although also worth way more than they are getting back from Philly.
The Kings getting Dubois would be very no bueno for the division. Feels like that would be a great fit actually and really push them over the edge…
I’m a bit surprised Backlund isn’t getting more interest. Maybe he is and it’s not leaked but I would think he is the type of player a ton of teams would be hungry for as excellent centre depth. Wasn’t Crosby quoted as saying he’s like one of the most underrated centre men in the NHL?
It's possible for Montreal to get Calgary's 2025 1st as high as #2 overall, if Calgary's 2024 1st is between 20th and 32nd, and Montreal does not take the 2024 1st, and Calgary doesn't receive Florida's 2025 1st, and Calgary's pick is in the top 10, but not first overall.

That would be the darkest timeline.
I am not really too worried about Florida being a bottom ten team in the two years. Also, it might be a 16th overall anyways lol

For a guy who maybe doesn’t try sometimes. BRUTAL trade by Treliving. Might be his worst.

That WAS indeed terrible. Arguably his worst though the Hamonic deal was another. What was interesting was very few really gave a crap at the time, as they were yelling, "BUT KADRI!". So dumb. I'm convinced Treliving was driven by ego and just being the headline maker a lot of times.

It’s rumoured that the Blues are getting both Deangelo and Sanhiem in return so I wouldn’t count on it.
