Yeah it is called years of experience

In the spirit of playing SJ tonite, what would it take to pry Kevin Leblanc from them?
Barrie Colts - Drafted by SJ in '14, 6-rd 171 OA
5'11 - 180lbs 20 years old - RW RHS
107pts in 68 games last year
94 pts in 48 games so far this year
Playing with Andrew Magiapane who has 68 pts in 42 games.
Curious to see what people think the value is on this kid.

I'm more curious why they don't have him playing in San Jose for their farm team. Unlike Mangiapane, Lebanc is eligible to play in the AHL right now.

I think that the best possible scenario is if they feel this kid is going to be a player in San Jose, and it makes Joonas Donskoi available. If we are looking at underrated LW/RW that may have a strong middle six future, I would keep a close eye on the way that he plays tonight, regardless of points, and hope that San Jose sees him as an expendable piece.

Yes, they were, and playing with Hossa, Keith, Seabrook, Campbell, Sharp, Versteeg, Brouwer, Ladd, Buf, Hjarmalsson, Madden...
Six 20 goal scorers (Kane had 30). Put 4 more 20 goal scorers on Calgary, and we'll talk.
Kane and Toewes themselves had only slightly better points that year than Gaudreau and Monahan did last year. And Johnny was a rookie and Monahan was a sophomore. It was Kane's and Toews third year each.

Yup. I think our young guys compare nicely with Chicago's core at the same age. Monahan's defensive game isn't as developed as Toews was but otherwise I think it's an apt comparison.
The difference really is depth beyond the young core, coaching, and slightly better goaltending.

I don't think I'll ever be ready for the "X 20 goal scorers" conversations again in my life.

Kane isn't exactly the poster child for clean living.

You expected a rebuild to happen over night? No growing pains? Coming to a new organization you need to learn alot of things including all the players in your system. I really see Treliving as having one off season as GM and in it he added Hamilton and Frolik, both of which were excellent additions.

Coyotes having trouble signing Boedker, obviously a player that Brad Treliving would be familiar with from his time in Phoenix.

Insider trading:
Possible Ladd stays in Winnipeg, wants to stay
Team is still going through evaluation process
Not on trade market yet, but wants Ladd wants a decision now - either start negotiations or he will consider his options
Oilers have decided to be sellers
Purcell will likely be dealt - doesn't make sense to spend cap dollars on him
Schultz's confidence is shot - lot of teams feel they can re-discover him - $3.9 mil qualifying offer
Some teams might have luke warm interest in Ehrhoff if they can send a contract back to LA
Kings would be interested in Hamhuis or Russell
Problem is Hamhuis or Russell are not on the market yet - Flames and Russell are in limbo, Hamhuis has a full NTC
If Coyotes can't sign Boedker he would be the top rental forward
Boedker and the Coyotes have had some back and forth but are not close.
Looking for 5.5 mil x 6 yrs from the Coyotes or another team
Don't be surprised if he goes to free agency (tumultuous history with the Coyotes)
Staal has full NMC/NTC - is going to sit and wait.
Has the option to decide to stick the Canes or move to a team of his choosing.

Vancouver is out of the sellers market as Benning said that he's planning on making the playoffs and is not selling (as per TSN article)
That's good news for the Flames

In my perfect little dream world, Adrian Kempe comes to CGY for Russell. Won't happen but he'd be perfect.
Others of interest from L.A:
Maxim Kitsyn
Valentin Zykov
Erik Cernak

Zykov is intereesting, though his offense hasn't materialized he's exactly the kind of "heavy" winger this team wants to add to its system.
The other guy I really like, from just last year's draft:

Dergachyov looked great in the WJC but he's not doing much in the MHL or KHL this year. Maybe he's not bein used properly but he has the size skill and speed for the NHL. Needs NA development time. I could live with Dergachyov for Russell too.
