Flames elected not to sign 2013 7th round draft pick. He became an UFA yesterday.

Word is free agent defenseman John Gilmour (@johngilmour93) of Providence College has agreed to 2-year NHL deal with New York Rangers.

Happy for him, I thought he had just as much if not more upside than any of our 25+ ranked prospects.

It is an ELC. Because of his age, the CBA says it is a 2 year deal. And all ELCs are two way

Good for him. I liked him as a player, but there's a lot of depth in front of him in the Flames organization right now.

Signings like this make it very obvious how deep the Flames prospect pool is. Not sure the Flames have ever been in a position to not qualify players who played well enough to be qualified. Kudos to the scouts.
