Rittich was both good and lucky and that's a good thing. Great game with two regulars (and one first liner) out.

Did anyone else feel really bad for Lazar for a second when he finally gets a game and then throws a leg in front of a puck, and gets hurt? Glad he came back (and obviously Hanifin too).

Went to the game. The Jackets aren't chippy at all. Flames played well without Monahan and Bennett. Hathaway is awesome. He's a new era Niemenen.

Haha. I went as Powdered Toast Man for Halloween one year, that was a great costume.

Game Takes:
Flames 4 Jackets 2

My son lost his city final tonight by the same score, 4-2. He was +2 with two assists though so there's that.

- Rittich solid with some ping action
- Treliving acquisitions are key with Ryan and Czarnik hitting the sheet
- three points up on the Sharks even games

Did I mention I'm at the game in San Jose on March 31st?

Probably a preview of what’s to come for the Flames on the road to the cup

This was a real feelgood win. Didn't really need it, but got it anyway against a good team. Scoring from all lines, goaltending was solid again. Things looking pretty good right now

Thanks, Flames

I think the best moment from tonights game was Rittich's care and compassion for his teammate. It was so unusual to see how intense he was about it and that he was with him all the way off the ice. The key thing is that moment was genuine. This is a goaltender a team can get behind. I knew then we were going to win.

Reffing was very bad as well. I know some calls go for and against, but stop interfering with the game.

I second the motion for trying to acquire big 77.

I know Columbus gave him a bridge deal which caused a bit of controversy a while back, boy would he be fun to have as our 2nd line RW with Tkachuk.

Big, mean, good power forward with skill. He stood out the whole game for Columbus.

Agreed. Wasn't there a rumor that we were trying to go after him at one point? I also wish Janko played more like that as well.

Having lived through the Kerry Fraser era, I can honestly say that performance by the refs in the third period is up there with the worst I have ever seen in the NHL.

The poor calls are one thing, but to then ignore 2-3 absolutely blatant hooks in the final stages of the game, which could have further altered the outcome is unacceptable in a pro league.

Anybody have the GIF of Gio winking (I think at Rittich?) right after their double scramble save?

Edit: Nevermind - should've checked /r/calgaryflames first.

Replace the puck in the barehanded puck grab gif with a W and you have a new gif for hard fought wins.

I missed the game unexpectedly. Was there any word on what is ailing Monahan?
