From the current core, I want to see them develop some swagger. They are too nice - they need to develop some 'f-you, we're the new show in town' attitude.

And for the rest of the organization, I want to see some key development. On the roster, Bennett and Jankowski in particular, but also any of Foo, Mangiapane, Czarnik, Lazar, Andersson, Valimaki - anyone - would be great.

Also, development from the goalies - the franchise needs at least one of the young goalies to step up. They don't need to take over the starting job this season, but we need one of them to step up and show that there is in fact a starter in the group.

The team isn't ready to win the cup this year, but I want to see some signs that this group intends on going and getting (at least) one, sooner rather than later. Show me the signs that you're capable, guys.

Yep. 100%.

They added to a position of strength and didn't shore up the position of weakness, and you can be as sexy as you want on paper but it doesn't guarantee winning when it counts.

We've learned that. Would be great if they do in the crappiest way next season.

Flames related:

-Win the Stanley Cup
-Sweep the Oilers
-Iginla jersey retirement

Around the NHL:
-Down year for Connor McDavid (75ish points)
-Leafs miss Bozak, JVR, and Komarov more than they think and aren't a powerhouse
-Canucks/Oilers don't win draft lottery
-Blackhawks continue to suck

Bennett to break out and hit 45 points without getting PP time for the first half of the year while also being a physical force.

Rittich to emerge as an average starter.

If these two things happened I think we'd be in great shape.

The Jankowski thing is so overblown
Dude played 72 games. Nearly a full season.
He played 6 games in the AHL.
Who wins/loses jobs in camp is always put under way more of a microscope than necessary, given that the day 1 roster rarely lasts more than a few days.

- I want to see a fast, strong start. No yo-yo record like other years
- At least the 2nd round of the playoffs
- More wins in Anaheim
- Healthy goaltending all year
- No PTO's that hang on
- Retro jersey

I would like to see Gillies take over as the number 1 goalie. I don't think its gonna happen but it would be reeaally nice.

- I want to see the team not have to rely on the goalie and star players to win every game and carry us for parts of the season. Obviously you want your goalie and stars to be your best players. But relying on Smith and Gaudreau to win every game gets old real fast.

- I won't to see some unsung heroes step up when it matters and win us games. The bottom 6 was truly horrible last season and lost us many games due to their sukkage. How nice would it be to see the entire roster, top to bottom contributing on a nightly basis.

- I want Brodie to return to form and to play as the defenceman who was trending up every season under Hartley. The Brodie that had fans chanting his name after his 4 point game early last season. The Brodie who as he goes, the Flames go.

- I want the D to be utilized to their strengths. The team has some great weapons on the backend. Some teams don't have any D who can score 40 points, most are lucky to have one. The Flames potentially have 3 (Gio, Brodie and Hanafin). An offensively strong D corps filters down to the rest of the team, and suddenly the depth scoring doesn't look so bad.

- I want the 'Dome to be a hostile place again for opposing teams. None of this stupid good on the road, bad at home team. Nothing GMG more then Flames' teams who are 2 polar opposites simply because of the building they play in. It drives fans and coaches alike absolutely crazy, and it really can't be explained. Sick of that crap.

- I want fans to be involved in the game and not contribute to it being a library-like environment.

I honest to god want nothing more than to watch the flames play some actual exciting hockey after maybe the two worst years in terms of being entertained.

added bonus would be seeing all of our top 8/9 forwards grow and get better.

staying injury free and not having a collapse in net.

Unless they occur in this context:

"What is wrong with the Flames? They are only up on the Oilers by three goals tonight after we have become accustomed to seeing blowout after blowout."

Many will disagree, but I still want to see Bennett between Tkachuk and Neale, it would be the most hated line in hockey (by opposition fans), with a lot of both grit and firepower.

That, and for one of their prospects/young goalies to show clear signs of being a future #1.

I'd take 50 in the regular season and 16 in the playoffs.

I don’t mind if a young player with a great camp has to spend a few extra games in the minors at start of the year.

But I would prefer no more awful veteran signings at end of camp. There have been some strange ones last couple of years, and these guys end up not even lasting a dozen games.
