oh man I'm really glad I went to T&T. The Sriracha is excellent, and the crispy chili oil is unreal hot. Very different applications tho I think
Yea I'm a little confused over those recommending chili oil as a sriracha replacement. It's fantastic in any sort of soup, but I'd definitely go with a more traditional hot sauce for any other food
We use a lot of Nando's sauce in our home. More of a garlic, smokey, sweet kind of taste, but not overpowering.
Also like El Yucateco:
Once again, good flavor but not overpowering. Both Yucatan and Nando's are available in a variety of flavors, so you can pick a favorite depending on the flavor profile you want. You can get large bottles of Nando's at Costco.
I really like the Callypso sauce too, but it does have a pretty strong, almost fruit, flavor:
A friend's wife just came out with her own hot sauce, that's selling really well. Obviously more specialized, with a more unique flavor profile:

Chili oil is much better in dishes like rice, stir fried anything, noodles, soups, dumplings, tossed in with fried proteins.
Sriracha doesn't go well with every food type. Chili oil does not go well with every food type. Use where appropriate.

The original sauce that turned Nong’s Khao Man Gai into an instant classic. Excellent in chicken & rice, marinades, stir fries and tofu -- even in Bloody Marys!
Nong’s sauce is a special family recipe made from all natural ingredients including soy beans and soy sauce mixed with fresh ginger, garlic, and chili.
That stuff is good. I love putting it on nachos, pasta, burgers, hotdogs, etc..., but I don't think it is a good substitute for Sriracha. The flavours are just too different. These two sauces shouldn't be fighting against each other, but teaming up to battle food together.

If you want a delicious snack, I recommend my own brilliant creation. Natural peanut butter on celery, with dollops of sriracha. I call it fire ants on a log.

For chili oil, my personal favorite is Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chau Chilli Oil. It has more umami and garlic kick.
Mix a bit of it with asian red vinegar for a great potsticker/gyoza dipping sauce with kick.
You can stir fry it with vegetables or in noodles or practically everything. The oil makes it versatile. Use anywhere you would use oil or olive oil in cooking.

That's also what it's called when it comes out the other end!
