If a top-4 defenseman is traded, its a big tell of what our management believes the quality of Andersson and Valimaki are and how close they are to stepping up.
We need a winger with a good RH-shot or a #1 centerman.

After the season Krug just had you would think the Oilers would be including their 1st rounder in that trade.

Yeah Krug for Kelfbom straight up doesn’t make much sense to me. Oilers would have to add a bit IMO.

Its more an indictment that Backlund is a quality number #3 center we need on a cup-winning team. He's not quite as good as Malkin, Backstrom, Sharp (in his prime), or any other #2 center on a cup-winning team. And lets be fair - none of the guys I listed are #2 centers. You need two #1 centers to win a cup.
