Uhh, is it wrong that I think this totally sounds scripted? Inducted to the hall of fame, appears on RAW, dies the next day?

His final speech on RAW last night makes this even weirder. It's almost like he knew or something.

Quote:
“No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if that man did in his life what makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized. By the story tellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you, you are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior. In the back I see many potential legends. Some of them with ultimate spirits. And you will do the same for them. You will decide if they lived with passion and intensity. So much so that you will tell your stories and you will make them legends, as well. Ultimate. You are the Ultimate Warrior fans and the spirit of Ultimate Warrior will run forever.”

Not sure how reliable TMZ is, but they are reporting he collapsed outside of a hotel while walking with his wife: http://www.tmz.com/2014/04/08/ultima...dead-dies-wwe/

Quote:
9:52 PM PT -- Officials tell TMZ ... Warrior collapsed outside an Arizona hotel at 5:50 PM on April 8th ... while walking to his car with his wife.

Warrior was transported to a nearby hospital ... where he was pronounced dead.

Absolutely in shock. It's hard to believe he's gone after we hadn't seen him for years, and then right after he comes out for Wrestlemania weekend he suddenly passes away. Just crazy, unless he somehow timed it this way, as sort of a last goodbye.

When I hear stories like this, where it's so coincidental that he got to say his goodbye speech at the WWE hall of fame and passes away days later, that there's such thing as the devil and he made a deal with him before his time has come

Either that or he must've done a #### load of drugs in an afterparty and his body couldnt handle it

You know, and I could have put this in the other sports forum. I get it that its a shock that he was dead, but its hard not to remember that this was a guy that was universally hated by his coworkers, shunned kids and fans through his career (The story of a make a which kid in Bret Hart's book and cooraberated by Foley was horrifying.

This was a guy who made virulent anti gay speeches and was basically a bully.

While its ok to say RIP, I feel sorry for his family, but this wasn't a great guy.

Or maybe that curse Papa Shango put on him a number of years ago.

You can celebrate the character that the Warrior was and not the man that he is. He changed the sport, and should be honored for that.

But yeah, real life - dude sucked.

He's a politically vocal right wing nut case, like Ted Nugent, but way worse.

I had no idea about the Make A Wish story. I felt like puking after I googled what it was.

That one story makes me so angry that he was my favourite wrestler as a kid.

I knew he was a right wing but job, but not only refusing to meet with a dying child who idolized him, but making the child and his family move so he wouldn't have to see them is just disgusting.

I don't think people are shocked when they die.

People are shocked that Warrior died the Tuesday after Wrestlemania, while he didn't look to be in good shape, he didn't appear to have less than 24 hours to live when he was on Raw.

Great entertainer, horrible person. But still, I'm glad he managed to buried the hatchet with the WWE.

If you've watched The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior (I highly recommend it) you know he wasn't very well regarded in the WWE, so I was quite surprised to see him inducted into the hall of fame and participating in Wrestlemania events this year.
