Allen was looking pretty good early in the year. On New Jerseys end they got him for a good price but it’s not what they needed. They needed a goaltender who can steal them games. Maybe the price was too high for them (or likely was), but this is an extreme shot in the dark in hopes Allen catches fire. If I’m NJ I’m not angry at the move itself, but moreso angry they didn’t try sooner. Now it seems all for nothing.

3rd round picks are worth virtually nothing. Alex Holtz is anything but a throw in, but if the flames consider him a throw in (they don't), NJD will happily take him out

I don’t watch Jersey a whole lot, but the Habs defence has been quite porous in front of Allen. Sounds a lot like the Devils just want a guy to make a save or two. He can do that. He’s no Markstrom, but I think he’s better than what they had.

Honestly if I were the Flames I’d rather an Allen/ Wolf tandem next year then Vladar/Wolf. It’s going to be a rough year next year. I’d have paid that price for Allen. Vladar, yikes.
