Looks like Costco has them for the same price as Amazon.

55" - $1,797.99
65" - $2,497.99

I use this one with an older 58". I like it quite a bit.

Sound bar, Vizio 5.1 from Costco. You're going to spend 2-4x the amount to beat/replace this set up hands down.

This is actually the one to get.

https://www.amazon.ca/VIZIO-Wireless...98052060&psc=1

They're all good though, that one is just the crown jewel of a good group of options.

Streaming services on this C9 are incredible. Holy crap. Still tinkering with the right settings for regular TELUS TV though. Something seems off.

How does the Telus 4k channels look like? I have Shaw and they don't have any 4k channels for some bizarre reason. Wonder if it's worth it to change over to Telus.

Yes. Or at least it's the same model line.

Was it worth paying the 2.5X to upgrade from the 36 inch to the 45 inch? At that price point, most people are entering higher end surround set ups, no?

That being said, I also understand choosing something like that. The Vizio set up is so damn easy, there's time savings/considerations in choosing a set up like that too. I'm just curious as to your thoughts with the 45" vs 36" vs higher end set up.

I assume my box doesn’t have 4K. It’s about 5 years old. I’m going to upgrade shortly. Just waiting for what I assume is an upcoming TELUS re-contract Black Friday deal.

After watching TV for another day I’m wondering if my eyes were just trying to adjust from my old plasma. It’s insane how good this picture is.

Netflix has 4K and watching Better Call Saul is a treat.

Shaw’s box doesn’t support 4K via Netflix app, you need to use the TV Netflix app.

I ran a test the other day and found it a sharper and more vibrant using TV app vs Shaw box.

It also is much better than my VT Plasma. That is saying a lot.

Wait, what? Then literally what is a 4k Shaw box for then? If Shaw doesn't have 4k content and the box doesn't show 4k content on apps......

If you can get normal warranty on a refurb though, by all means, go for it because it's the same theory as open box.

The part that annoys the crap out of me is that a refurb is sold in a way that the vendor tries to disassociate themselves from it as soon as possible. For something that's slightly more expensive, I'm not taking that dice roll. Not so for an open box/display models. I'll have the same odds and same support as someone who brought brand new, even if there's an issue with a product line.
I went with a 75" TCL 6 series at best buy, and it was open box. Glad I did. The 75" 6 series sells brand new for $1800. On Black Friday it was $1700.

They had the open box in the back, tried to sell it to me for $1600, we settled on $1400. Then the manager came by as I was paying and offered a 4 year warranty and calibration for $100 (usually they'll go half price on warranty which would have been $140, and half price on calibration which would have been $150). The calibration? meh, but for essentially free I'll take it.

Couldn't say no to that. So now it's essentially a new TV with the 4 year warranty. If this thing stops working in three years I get the newest model for free.

Yep. I liked them so much I bought two. At $200 when on sale, it's almost absurd not to.

Like others have said, it's never going to replace a mid to high end surround system but it's a HELL of a lot better than the speakers built into most (all) TV's.

You honestly can't go wrong.

One more question about CP's favourite Vizio 5.1 sound bar from Costco. For the rear speakers can you pick up pretty much any universal speaker stands off amazon, Kijiji etc and be good to go?
