Its odd...I LOVED The Goonies as a kid, it was such a childhood memory for me, and then I re-watched it a few years back with my kids and....
"This is awful. I have fond memories of this? I used to like this movie? Are you sure? Is this like a Director's Cut or something? Its like a child made this film."

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I feel that the finale and really, most of the series was a bit limp with moments of awesome. It was, overall, quite enjoyable and I liked it.
Like I said, the finale felt a little lame for whatever reason right at the end when the New Republic shows up it was like...'alright...cool.' But I dont always like that, everyone deifies X-Wing pilots. Why? But whatever, it was fun and I think mostly pretty good. So I'll take it and try not to be too nit-picky.

Could there be a season two? Possibly if they want to continue to follow the kids, who's actors did a fabulous job. Or they could pick up a new story with new characters, or follow Jod, I don't think he's really redeemed in any way, his darker bitter world view points to that.
Spoiler!
I might be daft, but I think that the post scene credits with the drawings of the Jedi was the story of Jod before he became a pirate, that could hint at a Jod specific series, it might be fun for them to go into his back story.
Re season 2:
Spoiler!
Yeah they probably bring back Jod for season 2, but I also think there is more story to follow on Tak Rennod. I for sure thought there was going to be a twist involving him when the hologram of Rennod obscured his face.
Re post credit scene.
Spoiler!
Those drawings were the stories about the Jedi, Wim would read on his tablet in the first episode. I don't think Jod's story is much more than an Order 66 survivor found him. Trained him a little in the Force so he could use telekinesis, but was found by inquisitors and forced him to watch as they killed her. If he was trained more I think inquisitors probably would have killed him too. His movements with the lightsaber was very clunky almost like he never wielded one before.
Notes from me:
Spoiler!
Glad they didn't make one of the kids force sensitive. Could have easily made Wim tap into the force and have one of the New Republic pilots tell him he just won a free scholarship to Luke's new academy to become a jedi.
Kind of ironic that a centrally planned (i.e. communist) civilization controlled by a droid was tasked with creating the currency that fuels capitalism for the Republic.
And without getting too picky, it was essentially 'The Wizard of Oz' and Stephen Fry was the 'man behind the curtain.' Elephant kid was Toto, visor girl was the Tin Man, tough girl was Dorothy and the boy was the cowardly lion. Jod was the wicked witch of the west.
Like I said, I really liked some of it, but I felt that it fell a little flat at the end there.
And if theres going to be a season 2? Get. On. It. When are people going to learn that if you make a show starring mostly children you really need to get back into production quickly because they have this annoying tendency to...you know...grow up.

Just watched the finale. It was:
Spoiler!
Really just straightforward, because it's a kids show. Wasn't some big twist.
My question is what happens to the residents of At Attin now? I'm guessing their lives weren't as great as we thought. Their actions and speech was constantly being monitored by droids. They were safe, but I'm sure there were some off screen punishments we didn't see. You can't raise generations of people and expect every single person to fall in line from birth.
The way the droid reacted to Wim talking trash about Jod looked pretty ominous. I'm guessing that its protocol didn't end at asking Wim politely to stop.
That being said, the people living on At Attin have no life skills, and the Star Wars universe seems like a pretty dark place to be. Maybe they can take a lot of credits?
Jod also F-ed things up royally. Why does he need to run a mint? Just load his ships up with as many credits as they can carry and get out of there. Maybe come back for more credits later. He has the only ship that can get through the defences. He could have bought entire planets at at a time with the amount of credits there.
Meetings with supervisors? Just put the credits on the ship and go.

Spoiler!
I'd say Neel was the cowardly lion and Wim was the Scarecrow.
Pirates are flying monkeys, Owl chick was Glinda, I guess that makes SM-33 Toto?
#### - I got some of the wizard of oz feelings, especially with the man(droid) behind the curtain, but after you laid it all out it seems so obvious.

SC was definitely flawed, but I enjoyed watching it with my 8 & 10yr old who really liked it. I doubt there's a season 2 based on the ratings but my kids are bummed season 1 is over, so here's hoping.

Given the recent run of simply god awful Star Wars shows, I guess I'm not surprised a lot of people skipped it. Hope it has legs now that it can be binged.

It's definitely Star Wars for kids done right.
They also did a great job of making it enjoyable for the parents watching it. Little easter eggs for Star Wars, but also Indiana Jones and the Goonies really added to the entertainment value. It wasn't forced stuff, that stood in place of needed story content, but more subtle background type stuff.

I thought it was a pretty good wrap up. Nothing to crazy, but at least what felt like a pretty meaningful conclusion. Very 80's with just the quick ending to and not a lot of extra meandering.
My 7 year old loved it all the way to the end, so they got the audience right.
