Game was suspended in the top of the 2nd with Jansen batting for Toronto with a 0-1 count. The Jays will replace him with a substitute player from their roster. Boston will put him in to sub for Reece Mcguire who was in the game but is no longer on the Red Sox roster and likely sitting in his car in a parking lot right now.

So Jansen would become the first player to play for both teams in an official game.

Jays had 4 guys in Jansen, Turner, IKF, Kiermeyer who are no longer on the team in the starting lineup plus Bo Bichette. Richard's and Garcia in the bullpen. So this lineup card will be HOF bound I think after the game.

I assume for a suspended game you get to change the lineup?

Yeah both teams are allowed to resume the game with their current 26 man rosters.

Rodriguez pitched the first inning in that game but Burr will supposedly take over in the bottom of the second. I think he'll be the only guy ineligible to re-enter the game.

Should be fun to see just for the whole lineup situation.

If this game counts as a June game, could a guy have lost a major streak that he was on and had ended months ago? For example, say Vladdy had a DiMaggio like hit streak that went from June 15-July 31 but he didn’t get a hit today, would that streak have been nullified?

I think it should be considered essentially a double header and streaks should count as of today rather than June 26th.

Blue Jays aren't making the playoffs, they are doing a good job making sure Boston isn't either.

Hopefully this team can lean into the spoiler thing for the rest of the season.
