Thought he was doing pretty good with the Wild with how their team is.

but another pretty good head coach out there for the Flames to choose from.

Former flame as the coach in minny for now

Some good coaches available. Boudreau, Laviolette, Gallant. There’s not gonna be a crop like this for the flames to capitalize on very often. Make it happen Tre

He must have given up on playoff hopes.

I'd put Boudreau behind Laviolette but ahead of Gallant in my ranking of available coaches.

3pts out of the last wildcard spot and they fire him? Smells like they are tanking

I think Bruce would be a great hire for this group. Although his playoff record is lacking he's pretty damn consistent in the regular season and the first step is making the playoffs consistently.

I remember when many thought Boudreau was the next coach here. Everything lined up. Francis proclaimed it a done deal.

Then, Gulutzan.

Very surprised at the reaction here. If the HBO series was any indication, Boudreau is an old school guy who just swears and berates his players to try to motivate them.

We need an intelligent motivator and systems guy.

Do not want.

I like when a coach commands respect, is the superior voice of a room and holds people accountable. The assistant coach should be the buddy buddy middle man.

There’s certainly a line not to cross, but that line sways far too in favor of players who seem to have a superior voice in the Peking order these days.

In my opinion, his play style would seem to suit our best players. Everything I've read and seen about BB seems to indicate he's more a player's coach who let's players utilize their strengths. Everyone swears all the time in Hockey... I wouldn't use that as an indicator of his coaching style.

It seems like he was single handedly almost willing the Wild into playoff contention.
This doesn't make much sense to me, unless they really want to rebuild.

I think he's the best coach available, despite the lack of cup appearance.
At least he makes his teams make the playoffs consistently, and that's exactly what the Flames need.

I think players like "tough but fair" coaches who they think have their back vis-a-vis other teams, the refs etc. They like coaches who communicate, not ones who make them guess why they are being sat, short minuted, etc. Or those who yell at them publicly (including singling them out in front of the team) - they seem to hate that. Sheahan said he liked Tippet for the former reasons the other night. Even though that's Oiler stuff, I think he's right.

Whether the systems guy is the HC or an AC, they need that too though. But an adaptable one, not a Babcock.

The more surprising thing is that a person called TheSutterDynasty was put off by the swearing and old school coaching..

Gallant, Laviolette, and now Boudreau. Teams looking for coaching upgrades are gonna get some real good ones.

Don’t know if the Flames will even be in the conversation for these guys, but it’s fun to dream.
