Since there's a lot of travel people here, and I think a few WJ employees, I thought maybe I could ask a question.
I got to enjoy Westjet Connect on my flight to Montreal the other day. Was great since the movies were temporarily free.
My question is about the trip back. That flight also had connect but they told us it wasn't working. But then they still sold tablets to use.
My question is, how is this possible? Don 't the tablets use the same system to stream movies?
I don't want to sound cynical and suspicious that it was all a ploy to get us to rent tablets, I'm just honestly confused as to how the tablets would work but other devices wouldn't.

Maybe the tablets are pre-loaded with content?

I see. I didn't that that would be possible considering how big the library of connect was. They had dozens of movies and TV shows. Are the tablet HDs that big? Or do they have a limited selection of content compared to the BYOD connect content?

If I'm not mistaken, the UAL we're watching is landing 28L at SFO -- the same place Asiana 214 crashed into the sea wall a couple of years ago. This video goes a neat perspective on that.

Reason: Quoted a video like an idiot.
My girlfriend and I landed in Keflavik this morning with zero visibility. The video doesn't do it justice but the second we broke through the very low cloud cover we hit the runway. Modern jets are so impressive.

I was walking by Glenmore Landing 15 mins ago, and I am 95% certain the aforementioned B-17 flew right over our heads. Sorry - I should have been quicker on my feet and posted a video for you guys. I can't imagine there is another 4 engine turboprop flying around (and I know enough to say it definitely wasn't a Hercules).
