Nice to hear Torts call out the goalie for that atrocious second goal. I like his honesty especially for a goalie who won't be back.

At least one good team will be in the semi-finals. This is actually an embarrassing Stanley cup playoffs - could you imagine if it was Carolina, Columbus, dallas, Colorado? Gross.
The only finals worth watching is San Jose/St Louis- Boston IMO

One of the reasons I can never get 100% behind Torts.
Your team was shutout. Bob had won them quite a few games on his own.

Ya, but Bob also strikes me as a bit of a dink so... *shrug*
Kyle Bukauskus sorta looks like the face of MAD magazine. That’s all I ever think when I see him.

Kyle is awesome. Graduated from SAIT more than five years ago though. He's a huge Flames fan.

He's only 25 or 26, so it can't be much more than 5 years ago.

He should be fined.
It's about marketing your sport.

I like Kyle, some of you need to be a little less serious about sports, it’s good to see a younger lad with a sense of humour.

I like him too. He probably has moved up so fast because he is good at his job. Seems natural in front of the camera and has fun with it. Unlike the majority of Canadian sports broadcasters.
There is a reason everyone loves the NBA TNT crew. They have legit fun and you can feel it. It's a sport not that big of a deal.

Bobrovsky and Panarin are well within their rights to go to Florida together but don't assume that the organization is going to throw a party for them on the way out. They tried really hard to re-sign these guys and nobody likes to be rejected especially to go to an organization like the Panthers.

The only thing has to do in his career is the respect the on ice talent. They will reward him with great interviews. That’s how it works.
He embarrassed the on ice talent, during an on ice interview in the playoffs! Marchand is a jerk, but I’m with him on this one.

No just stop. This is idiotic. So fines are now given for one word answers? That’s so ridiculous. When Ronald said it I was a little taken aback.
This isn’t the first time an athlete was kinda rude to a reporter (kinda, he just didn’t really answer questions, who cares?) and it won’t be the last.
They should fine him for the colour suits he wears too after games.

He embarrassed the on ice talent? I'm sure Marchand really lost sleep over it.
NHL players and interviews are so bloody boring and bland. Marchand may have taken offense to this, which is weak if so considering you figure with his antics that he would have the sense of humour to play along.
But the HNIC panel grilling him for the lack of answers, and saying he should be fine is moreso embarrassing for them. No one really cares about what they have to say. They're just filling in time betweens the play and ads. If you don't like the answers a player gives in a interview, boo hoo. Choose to interview players that will give you the engageful responses that you want.
But NHL interviews 99% of the time are generic boring speech. Players that have personality and can provide flavour to the interviews at time are extremely rare in the NHL. This is partly why pretty much any player that were stars have never gotten into media after their playing career. They're too boring for TV.

You can pretty much hit mute anytime an NHL player does an interview. It's the same spiel every time. If these interviews market the sport they do a piss poor job of it. I don't even listen to them anymore and haven't for years.

Haha. Actually I don't blame him for going off on the reporters for dumb questions. But I think he's not gonna go down the opposition hallway any time soon.

That actually would've been pretty neat having both 7th and 8th place teams battle it out. It's an anomaly that the playoffs have gone this way, enjoy it. A Blues-Hurricanes final would be incredible considering that both teams were in the dumps on New Year's Day.

Although this is veering off topic, Sportsnet should consider bringing Kevin Bieksa in full time if he's interested in going into media. His coverage during All-Star weekend did add some flavour, and he would be a personality that actually had high public awareness during his career.
