Unfortunately I think Lazar doesn't get another shot with the Flames. I think at most he is a piece the Flames add to a package at the deadline.

He is RFA after this season and I can see a team willing to take him on as a project for the rest of the season.

IMO he has done more than enough to deserve a call up but the Flames haven't turned to him.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Lazar up instead of Dube.

Dube has played well, but will not grow seeing 7/8 minutes of 4th line minutes with no special team time.

Also how has Foo looked this year?

I agree, it makes more sense for Lazar to play on the 4th line/press box than it does for Dube. Dube should be on the first line in the AHL for the rest of the season.

Stockton takes 5 minors in the first period and are down 3-0 as a result. Parsons in goal.

Concerning that Parsons has been pulled in back to back games.

Faragher now in net for the Heat.

Heat lose 7-5.

Upside is Phillips extends his point streak to 7 games with an assist.

I'd be surprised if he didn't get another shot this year. I think we'll see him up at some point even if its after the Heat are eliminated. I don't think the book is closed on his Flames career yet but I guess we'll see. I think they've left him there this long in order to rebuild his offensive confidence. He is so many season removed from being counted on to score. I really think he needed a half season+ to get his offensive confidence back.

Guess we'll see if injuries hit. I think he deserves another shot later this season.

The Stockton Heat are so bad defensively. So so many goals against. I always gave Ryan Huska a hard ride... but I miss him now. Could use a fresh stable of prospects on the backend as well.

This x100. Prospect pool was super deep on D when we had Anderson, Valimaki, Kylington and Fox in the fold. Now with all seeing NHL time and Fox gone.... wow its bleek. Great to see so many of them getting time in the show but we need to restock.

Mattsson has been really good on D. I don’t even really know who the other D left on the team are.

15:27 STK Rob Hamilton (4) ASST: Tyler Graovac (15), Alan Quine (15)
16:01 STK Curtis Lazar (12) ASST: Matthew Phillips (12)
17:23 STK Rob Hamilton (5) ASST: Alan Quine (16), Kerby Rychel (13)
1:26 STK Matthew Phillips (10) ASST: Curtis Lazar (15), Kerby Rychel (14)

I said this last year but Phillips is the prospect the Oilers thought they had in Yamamoto, Phillips is better at everything and we got him in the 7th

Amazing hockey sense on this kid, I’ve seen it firsthand too many times

Who is the centre on the Kerby Rychel - Curtis Lazar - Matthew Phillips line?

Are they the 1st or 2nd line?

Colorado came back and made it close, but the Heat won 7-6. Parsons gave up the 6 but picked up the win. Great to see Phillips producing lately. Looks like he’s finally adjusted to the pro game and hopefully he can keep it up.

Would Parsons be better off in the ECHL for another year. How about trying Schneider who had solid numbers in 11 games for Stockton or even McDonald who has better numbers than Schneider in KC. I only have stats go by so I may be out to lunch.

In fairness to Parsons, it looked like the last 3 goals against were man disadvantage situations and rebounds after he made a good first save. Maybe he needs to work on rebound control? Or have better defenceman who can clear the front of the net.

Or the goaltending coach in Stockton should be taking some heat. At least Sigalet has Rittich going (knock on wood). Both of Stockton’s goalies have horrendous stats.

On a positive note. Who is this Rob Hamilton kid? Late bloomer? Looks like he was undrafted and had a couple of injury riddled seasons in college that may have hurt his development, but his last year in college looked good production wise. Did this kid fall through the cracks and is there something there?

I don't think goaltending is the issue there as much as the team is an absolute tire fire defensively from what I have heard. Perhaps someone who follows them more closely can input on that. I have a very hard time believing all of the sudden Parsons and Gillies have regressed a bunch.
