I'm thinking I will. Bitterly disappointed with Black Ops, this looks pretty sweet.
The biggest draw for me is that you earn points for achieving goals online, like capturing or defending flags. You can then use those points to buy items on the fly, like tanks and helicopters. So no more camping at the helipad waiting for it to respawn.

looks like just another call of duty clone. i really wish game developers would take a few more chances rather than copying the current flavor of the month
Picked it up today, but my damn internet is out. I'll post later tonight on my multiplayer findings when I'm not teathered to my cellphone data connection.
I've read that it's not good at all. The campaign is 5 hours long and the game play online isn't much better.
I just want a realistic war game to play; no freaking unloading a half of a mag into a body to kill them or somehow make the sniping more realistic.

There was one called Dragon something or other... maybe Flashpoint. It was supposed to be a war sim.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Part of the Operation Flashpoint series, started by Bohemia Interactive but now owned by Codemasters. Bohemia Interactive went on to make the ArmA series, which are spiritual successors to the first Operation Flashpoint. I haven't played them.
Another vanilla FPS. Woo. It doesn't even have cutting edge graphics like most of the others try to do (Killzone 3, Crysis 2).
If you wanted a shooter I'd hold off til next week for Crysis 2. It doesn't look too inspired either, but at least it's pretty as hell and looks more fun too.
Managed to get a few MP games in last night, but the servers are still crap. Took nearly an hour to get on, then it kept booting me off saying "Disc Unreadable" even though the game is installed on my HD...
Anyway, game is pretty darn fun.
Graphics are pretty subpar, movement is sometimes choppy.
But other than that, the new system of earning points to buy items on the fly is pretty fun. Fun to rip around in a chopper etc.
Graphics are mediocre on PC, which has undoubtedly the best graphics of the three platforms. Issues with frame-rate and texture pop-in on the Xbox 360 makes it quite a bad port, which is disappointing. The underlying engine of the game is behind the curve by about five years.
I would go with Battlefield : Bad Company 2 as was said above. Or if you've got a PS3, Killzone 3... I've been playing it this week, and it's a great game, though if I had my way the controls would be similar to that of CoD. R3 for aiming down your sight versus L2 kind of sucks.
