Unless it's Neal there's no top 6 UFA left.
I still think we're trading. Hoping for Stone still, but more likely ROR.

reading between the lines I think they are not going back to Shore. Said with the additions of Czar, Ryan, and Quinn "we will see"

I just think ROR is gonna cost too much. I do not want to see this team trade another first round pick.

Treliving said that although he doesn't like to draw comparisons, he likened the Prout signing to the Engelland one 4 years ago. High quality guy and team mate, in the mold of a big rough and tumble Dman.
I don't see him getting anywhere near being a full time starter myself, but I would bet on him being the 7th Dman who gets in the odd game now and again.

Andersson (likely w/ Flames), Goloubef, and Wotherspoon gone from the Heat, Tre will need to sign several depth D-men

Was Treliving asked when Lindholm and Hanifin are expected to be signed?

This week it sounded like. Both the team and agents wanted to deal with July 1-3 as it's their busiest for UFA's

This FA day really feels like the organization was supplementing its lack of draft picks a week ago. Filled some organizational holes and ticked some boxes -- I'm not sure today's signings (other than Ryan) actually improve next year's roster.

The Flames big UFA signing this year was Backlund.

I'm glad no mistakes were made handing out a huge salary that has the ability to turn into an anchor like Brouwer.

Hockey News listing Calgary among their top 3 winners for Day 1.

Couldn't agree more. I think Treliving has had an awesome week or so going back to the draft. Not just the big trade, which I think was fantastic, but also the picks the team made at the draft were all intriguing selections, IMO.
Love today's signings. Good depth players that really have the potential to improve secondary scoring, which was a big problem for the team last year. I think today went a long way to addressing that.
And if course the same article has both the Canucks and the Oilers among the three losers.

Guess it depends on how rigid they are with L/R because I think Andersson can beat out Kulak
