Thornton has already confirmed that he will re-sign with the Sharks for whatever is left after free agency.

My first thought was Franson, too.

Okay, I get you're a Sabres fan but you're really missing my point.

Calgary LHS forward depth for PP:

Gaudreau
Monahan
Tkachuk
Backlund
-> ROR would ostensibly fit here
Bennett, and that's mostly because he's unproven,
Jankowski, likewise
Frolik

Buffalo LHS forward depth for PP:

ROR
...*tumbleweed rolls by*

Do you not see why a guy who produced pretty much HALF of his numbers on team B's power play (rather than 5 on 5) would be a disaster on team A?

If Bennett is so awesome why does Calgary never use him on the power play?
See above.

See Glen Gulutzan - since fired.
That said Bennett is also a lefty and like ROR would not particularly help the Flames powerplay.

Finally -- OP updated. Added an additional section to keep track of all the Flames' signings, of which there are five thus far.

So the last big remaining UFA's are:

27 year old Calvin DeHaan ~ coming off season ending surgery that saw him only suit up for 33 games ~ Leafs reportedly tied to DeHaan

39 year old Iron Man Joe Thornton ~ He just keeps ticking and also missed a large portion last year to injury suiting up for just 47 games but still accumulating 36 points. ~ San Jose reportedly working on a 1 year deal to re-up the longtime Shark.

34 year old Rick Nash ~ He is currently contemplating retirement at a somewhat young age for the former superstar winger. It has also been discussed that maybe a return to where it all began makes sense for the veteran Canadian who has yet to suit up in a Canadian City. Maybe he returns to his true home like a current superstar did this year as well to go for one last shot at glory?

32 year old Patrick Maroon ~ It's been said that he is a coat-tail riding, McDavid striding, has been but he did put up 13 points post McDavid on a Devils team that squeaked in and he wasn't riding shotgun with Taylor Hall either. It's been rumoured he's waiting to see if the Blues can make room for a hometown guy but it's looking less and less likely ~ Could Dallas/San Jose be circling the scraps?

Where do you think they end up ?

Also ~ Cheers to Scorp for running an excellent FAF thread that is full of usefull info; Cheers man !
