Islanders in 7. Will take take them a game or two to get back into full battle mode, but they'll persevere in 7 games.

Carolina has never lost in the second round of the playoffs. I'm going with them in 5.

Islanders will have been off for at least 10 days. Could be a huge advantage of they don't come out rusty

I like both teams, and especially both fan bases. There will be some loud buildings in this series, it's going to be great.

I'll say Isles in 7.

Gonna go with the islanders in 6 with the edge to goaltending. Almost a coin toss though

Trotz is the far more experienced coach and I think it will show in this series along with NYI's superior goaltending. Will still be a close series as Carolina has a great set of defensemen and I like their forward depth more than New York's. The rest and preparation the Islanders got also should help win what should be a hard fought series in 6 games.

If the Canes can ride the momentum off a double OT game 7 win and come out blazing in game 1, they may catch the Islanders before they can wake up from their post-sweep nap. Then you've won the first game on the road, and the series has a totally different complexion. Will be interesting to watch, for sure.

I see the Isles taking this in maybe 6. The Canes took the defending Champs to 7 and then beat them though, so it certainly won't be easy for the Isles.

That showed a lot of poise for Hurricanes to come back from multiple deficits against defending champs. I don’t think they’re done yet.

Trotz is a great coach but Brindamour might have something special going with his group.
