The Strange New Worlds cast has been announced and you see their new looks and new uniforms.
Pike looks a lot older with white hair. I'm still not buying Gregory Peck's son as Spock or Mystique as Number 1. We also get a Nurse Chapel (originally played by the same actress as Number 1 in the 60s) and a cadet Uhura. Not sure I buy that casting either.
I’d like to see the Picard crew to head back to 1986 and meet up with a young Shatner and crew while they’re trying to save the humpback whales. I don’t know how they could do this, but that’s all I want if they’re doing a time travel thing.
They should show up after the humpback whale caper, and deal with the fallout of Scotty giving them transparent aluminum.

In terms of Lower Decks, I love it. But I'm starting to get the its getting a bit stale vibe. We're seeing the same thing every week Mariner, mysterious past, adreneline junkie. Boimler, neurotic, screams a lot.
I think they need to at least start stretching the characters a bit or it becomes the same old thing with winks or shots at Picard and Discovery etc.

Agreed. The characters just aren't growing as characters. I hope the writing team decides to invert some personalities at some point. Mariner loses her edge/confidence and Boimler needs to step up, Tendy gets hot and bothered and lets those sweet Orion pheromones' loose on the ship, Rutherford and Badgey team up to fake a warp core breach only to steal the ship once its empty...
Mariner is turning into animated Burnham (albeit with a lot more sass, impulsiveness, and foul language) which is truly a shame.
Pretty good episode, with the suck up crew of Cadets. They basically mirror the actual bridge crew. Except there's been a move this season to make the bridge crew more likeable and responsible, which is kind of two bad.
I don't have a big enough helmet for that.
