Also where has the UN been in all of this? Whats even the point of having the UN if its neutered and useless at times like this.

Any organisation that has a terrorist state like this as a permanent member of a Security Council and all that entails, can’t maintain any level of credibility.
The UN is broken, it has been for decades, but this is just a joke. Russia is a failed terrorist state and should not occupy such a position.
And yes, you could probably make a case as to why each of the other members should not occupy that position, but none of them are threatening actions to wipe out all of humanity.

As for the CSTO, with friends like Russia, who needs enemies?
|
?. So the UN tries to pass a resolution against Russia for all intensive purposes and a Russian vote vetos it and I misunderatand the role of the UN? It might be nice for an organization such as the UN to be able to condemn this attack, including the War Crimes and Human rights violations. I just see no other way out but for the pressure to come from within to stop.Or their leader dies.
The CSTO was doomed to begin with.
anyways no point in derailing the thread.

Ukraine just purchased HIMARS, with December delivery. Are these not the game changer rocket system? Now the UA, can properly destroy the bridge?

Ukraine has had HIMARS for a while, and yes, they have been game changers (enabling strikes on logistics centers and command posts outside of ballistic artillery range). However, they do not put the bridge in missile strike range unless Ukraine also gets the ATACMs longer-range munitions, which thus far the USA has declined to sell them.

I'm a little surprised actually that it took this long for the Russians to strike at the government facilities in the capital. I would have thought it'd be their target much earlier. Americans always strike at the other country's governments, power generation hubs, etc. within days of their invasions.

They dont have the means anymore, this was presumably as accurate as they can manage and they are at about the US's level of aim from the mid 1970's, they can drop a missile to within half a mile or so it would appear, might as well be ten miles, to be honest I'm relieved, if this is all Russia has after Ukraine literally stuck a fist up Putin's where the sun dont shine then they seem wholly toothless at this point and also seem unlikely to use anything atomic

They were doing it in the beginning of their attack when they had bigger ambitions. Now they are doing it to scare the population and to be dicks. Militarily it doesn't have any impact since they aren't fighting anywhere near where these spots.
